201 takes us back to Chucalissa five months after the chaotic events of Murda Night and into a battle with Miss Rona. It was important to start from the POV of Julian (yes, that's Rolando Boyce from #TheChi), a regular-degular customer struggling through the pandemy. #pvalley

Not everyone loves that we tackled the pandemic, but it was very important to Katori reflect the times. Sex workers were hit incredibly hard by the pandemic and we had to honor that experience and their resilience. #Pvalley

Through Andre's wife Dr. Britney Seagram-Watkins we found a way to honor the bravery and dedication of front-line workers. #PValley

Season 2 is much darker and heavier, reflecting the state of the world. We also channeled that darkness into horror movie aesthetics which you'll see across all 10 episodes. #pvalley

But in our show, just like in life, there's always light to balance the darkness. Lil' Murda's ambition to succeed created a really amazing storyline for the season. 'When I Make it Out' was the first track @JAlphonse_N recorded for S2. #Pvalley

Katori asked for "an escapist strip club banger... full of flexing and fantasy," addressing Lil' Murda's feelings about lockdown. "All of this is built around a sing-song, earworm hook." She also wanted the song to incorporate @JAlphonse_N's drumming abilities. #PValley

That What's Love Got To Do With It clip is a double reference to Katori's work. She wrote the Tony-winning musical @TinaBroadway about Tina's life AND The Mountaintop, which starred Angela Bassett on Broadway. #pvalley
