I have been warning against the pursuit of infection-derived immunity in the children and have been saying the superantigen and mhc suppression combined with evolution would make infection virtueless

1/
Because of these strong statements that oppose the notion of sending sars cov2 to endemicity via infection of the youth, I have been called a “crank” and “not galileo” for not “being a working scientist” because I got a phd in 2018 on t cell memory and am just a student
2/
My statements have stood the test of time. I did not need a pipette in my hand to understand what was happening. Those that attack me have been saying
1) after infection the virus is rendered like a cold or flu
2) sars cov 2 will evolve to be like endemic coronaviruses
3/
Both of these claims have not occurred, we can see sars cov 2 is still a virulent and severe illness despite further evolution and immunological memory. The pursuit of infection-based immunity has harmed brains and immune systems
4/
As a scientist, when you stand by someone with not only delusional but harmful beliefs that infecting the youth will bring about endemicity, you galvanize your position among the people responsible for harming those without agency
5/
Also, all of the claims of evolutionary or immunological attenuation have been modelled to reflect the real world. What happens in the real world is most important, and sars cov 2 is causing severe reinfections and will continue to do so because it is intrinsically severe
6/6
You all brought this on yourselves
You also brought it upon those without agency

This is why understanding immune memory formation is important
"waves" of infection clearing are an acute process- this paper is examining immune memory formation

The principle in action demonstrating the lack of competent immune memory is the rapid Omicron reinfections observed Image
I have been saying sars cov 2 distorts immune memory formation.

This is supposedly a top virologist recommended by "zeynep" and they either do not understand the difference between effectors and memory or are being disingenuous

The whole ISSUE is durability of the response
Another issue is the thought greater transmissibility would not bring about immune escape by virtue of evolution. If you could not grasp or project that, you do not understand it

I am not critical of Tom here whatsoever-

However people have sold the notion of "boosting" immunity via infection. I have even seen this in the NYT as of late

The opposite may be happening as shown by Science paper on imprinting from prior infection- it is not boosting memory Image
I have been arguing that infection distorts and harms immune memory
And that distorted memory in turn, harms us

You all need to understand this.

The paper not only shows SARS Cov 2 mutating away from immunity

But also old infections holding immunity back-

immunity is worse off following another infection because of that earlier infection

I have been warning about this and have said in many ways infection would harm immunity and be virtueless
I've been arguing against infection-based immunity policies because the virus distorts immune memory

I am not harshly criticizing Mike, but the postulate that breakthroughs and repeated infections would build and broaden our immune response to sars cov 2 seem to be bogus ImageImage
This postulate was also in the NYT with some other claims about evolutionary attenuation nytimes.com/2022/06/11/wel… Image
When I stood against this bogus "consensus" I was called "not Galileo" and a "crank"

please list the verifiable misinformation
I was gracious to Mina as well. Because he has the respect of people I respect
He did strawman me and said I recommended a clinical trial of T cells

He did not clarify adoptive transfer or complete depletion

i posit the t cells would be garbage compared to prophylactic antibodies

Really pathetic seeing all the obfuscation over the Hepatitis, makes it look like fumbling, but it was, in fact, politically motivated obfuscation. The only novel thing after all these months was the T cell infiltrates found on biopsy and the response to steroids
A path correlate to a clinical diagnosis. I have 3 publications describing T cells being licensed to infiltrate organs and function exuberantly from SARS Cov 2 which were ignored intentionally after concerted efforts from infection-based immunity apologists to discredit me
You simply do not forget how T cells work, especially if you have two first authorships on T cell memory formation in JCI from your PhD work. To all the minimizers claiming I stood against the "consensus," pray tell what the consensus was! Spit it out and admit your wrongness!
