The war in Ukraine has serious implications for European security and once again underscores the need for a strong NATO. So ahead of the #NATOSummit it was good for leaders of NATO countries from various regions and NATO’s Secretary-General to have a chance to talk.

At the #NATOSummit in Madrid we will discussing ways of strengthening the Alliance for the future, not least through the new Strategic Concept, which in light of recent events has only grown in importance. NATO is, and will remain, the cornerstone of European security.

This evening’s informal meeting was a joint initiative with PM Mette Frederiksen 🇩🇰 (@Statsmin). It was a pleasure to welcome SG @jensstoltenberg, President @KlausIohannis 🇷🇴, and PMs @alexanderdecroo 🇧🇪, @morawieckipl 🇵🇱, @antoniocostapm 🇵🇹 and @krisjaniskarins 🇱🇻 to The Hague.
