🧵J6 comm letter to Loudermilk: Surveillance footage shows a tour of approximately ten individuals led by you to areas in the Rayburn, Longworth, and Cannon House Office Buildings, as well as the entrances to tunnels leading to the U.S. Capitol. The below image shows you leading
individuals on tour: Individuals on the tour photographed & recorded areas of the complex not typically of interest to tourists, inc. hallways, staircases, &security checkpoints. For ex, the below image shows an individual appearing to photograph a staircase in Longworth basement
while you speak with others nearby:
The behavior of these individuals during the Jan. 5, 2021 tour raises concerns about their activity and intent while inside the Capitol complex.
The Select Comm has learned that some individuals you sponsored into the complex attended the rally at the Ellipse on the morning of J6
Acc. to video recordings from that day…the individual who appeared to photograph a staircase in the Longworth House Office Building filmed a companion with a flagpole appearing to have a sharpened end who spoke to the camera saying, “It’s for a certain person,”
while making aggressive jabbing motion. Later, these individuals joined the unpermitted march from the Ellipse to Capitol. While standing near the Capitol grounds, the same individual made a video that contained detailed & disturbing threats against specific Members of Congress
…he said, “There’s no escape Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler. We’re coming for you. …They got it surrounded. …they’re coming in, coming in like white on rice for Pelosi, Nadler, even you, AOC. We’re coming to take you out …’ … Video
“The foregoing information raises questions the Select Committee must answer. … … We again ask you to meet with the Select Committee at your earliest convenience.” letter ends
I would think, in addition to Rep. Loudermilk and Ranking House Admin comm Republcan Davis, the committee’s findings would also warrant questioning of US Capitol Police Chief of Police J Thomas Manger, whose letter to Davis either missed some of the facts, or misled abt them
Manger in letter: “we do not consider any of the activities we observed suspicious.”
oh yeah?
Again, recall that a GOP aide to House Admin Comm. said flatly “there were no tours.” now we all see evidence Loudemilk led a 2+ hour tour, people on it were taking photographs of hallways & entrances, & were at the Jan 6 rally threatening members of congress.
House Admin GOP aide in Feb: we reviewed 48hrs of video footage, there were no tours, no MAGA hats.
Loudermilk in May: tour for constituent family w/kids
Video & photographs of 2+ hr Loudermilk tour 1/5: Tour, photographing hallways, stairwells, entrances, MAGA hats. no kids
Has anyone seen a statement from @RepLoudermilk explaining his false statements?
Or from @RodneyDavis on those made on behalf of House Committee on Administration Republicans?
Check out the video. From ~2min mark, the man is taking photos of Capitol office bldng stairwells and entrances, while Loudermilk stands by talking to others. Earlier in video, the man is marching to Capitol on 1/6 threatening members of Congress
Anyone know who is the seeming member of Congress in blue suit top right holding his staff back so the man on Loudermilk tour can take a photo of the hallway area? clear that there were a lot of people who saw a tour that GOP has lied about for over a year
If Loudermilk had felt he was giving an innocent tour to constituents on 1/5, why did he not just say so from the beginning? Why lie and dissemble for months and months?
Why did he and House Admin committee GOP lie and say no tours, no MAGA hats, at all?
That would have been a ten minute story if he had said it in January 2021. He gave a tour, had no idea if any of the people were coming to try to do surveillance for the rally.
“The Georgia Republican said in a statement after the video’s release that the panel is ‘is undermining the Capitol Police and doubling down on their smear campaign.’” apnews.com/article/capito…
So after he got caught lying, Loudermilk appears to be hiding behind the skirts of the police.
.@RepLoudermilk, via CSpan, falsely claims the committee never contacted him.
Here is a previous letter from J6 Select Committee dated May 19, 2022 addressed to Loudermilk asking for Loudermilk’s voluntary cooperation. january6th.house.gov/sites/democrat…
~0:40 mark, Loudermilk claims he never saw the guy on the video. but he seems to be referring to the video from 1/6 of the bearded man with flag pole, not the man taking the photos 1/5 of security checkpoints on tour Loudermilk gave, who is narrating 1/6 video,
and in whose audio narration is threatening harm to members of Congress.
This is one of the striking findings of the polls seen last few days.
A majority of Americans do not think the war with Iran makes them or the world safer, but less safe. (And 1/5 thinks it makes no difference.)
(one of the big differences between American and Israeli public opinion on the Iran war.) For a majority of Americans, it is not just that they don’t want to do it. They don’t think it advances security.)
Reuters/Ipsos (4-day poll completed 3/23):
46% of respondents think war on Iran will make U.S. less safe;
Only 26% said it would make country safer;
rest said no effect.
Sarah Rogers has used her State Dept platform primarily to try to boost the far right AfD party in Germany and far right parties in UK, in seeming alignment with Elon Musk and other anti EU regulation tech bros. She has shown minimal interest in free speech in places like Iran
Here was one of her more startling State Department posts on Twitter, discussing “‘Jewish’ NGO tentacles,” “rapist hordes,” in a State Dept post that quote tweeted an account called the National Socialists of Tik Tok.
More from her recent TL, almost entirely focused on promoting anti EU far right parties and organizations in Europe and free speech for neo Nazi adjacent types.
🧵This is a lie, the mediator, “Persian Gulf diplomat” has said. “I can categorically state that this is inaccurate. He was explaining that all of this material can all go away should we have a deal and Iran can be relieved from sanctions.” ms.now/news/exclusive…x.com/acyn/status/20…
I reported, and it is a serious issue, that Witkoff and Kushner DID NOT UNDERSTAND the Iranian proposal or nuclear issues and continue not to understand. diplomatic.substack.com/p/was-diplomac…
You need to understand your opponent, you need to bring experts to help explain what you don’t know. Both on Iran & nuke issues. Kushner and Witkoff DID NOT UNDERSTAND an offer that may not have been good enough but was serious. It is like they had a 50% translation diplomatic.substack.com/p/was-diplomac…
🧵Powerful Star Tribune editorial: Minnesota is under siege:
“What we are witnessing is the storming of the state by the federal government.
Fraud investigation and immigration enforcement in Minnesota have become a pretext for a sweeping federal show of force that bears little relationship to the problem it claims to address.”
“It is indiscriminate. Noncitizen immigrants without legal status make up roughly 1.5% of Minnesota’s population — less than half the national average. Nothing about that figure justifies the scale, posture or tactics now widely deployed.
“The fatal shooting of 37yo Renee Good, an American citizen..., by an ICE agent on Jan. 7 brought into brutal focus what many communities had already bn experiencing: an enforcement strategy that erodes trust & often puts innocent people & lawful protesters in extreme danger.
👀🧵 “Rubio was scheduled to attend peace talks with Ukrainian officials in Switzerland, but Witkoff had set off early in what some officials saw as a bid to beat him to the punch…, Witkoff did not communicate his travel plans to Rubio & other State Dep. officials, the 3 sources said, in what they perceived as a move to allow Witkoff to negotiate with Ukraine in a way he saw fit.
“It was not the first time U.S. officials had seen Witkoff’s actions as an attempt to make an end-run around Rubio. …latest example of a long-running rift between the two senior figures…with sharply different views about how to end the war in Ukraine and how much the U.S. should trust Russia’s promises.”
“Late last month, days after the Geneva talks, Witkoff arranged a meeting with Ukrainian officials in Florida. Rubio became aware of the planned session only when the Ukrainians asked his team about it, according to a U.S. official and a person familiar with the incident.”
US official on talks with Ukraine says US willing to submit security package for Senate ratification.
Another US official says they have beefed up the security guarantees package but warns the guarantees will not be on the table forever. eg pressure on Ukraine to take it sooner
Second US official: “…details on security guarantees we are not ready to provide yet. They will come out soon. Think you will find everyone is happy with them.”
