Cornyn talks about how “when tragedy strikes, the left's knee jerk reaction is to say we should confiscate guns of law abiding Texas.”
He says he will not support new restrictions for gun owners. Crowd continues to boo. Loud boos.
Cornyn says what’s on the table in terms of gun-related negotiations in Congress “more mental health resources, more support for our schools & making sure that violent criminals and the mentally ill cannot buy a firearm.”
More boos. Cornyn encourages folks to check his website.
As Cornyn talks, folks are rowdy. Chanting “no red flags” and “say no to Cornyn.”
When Cornyn talks about electing new leadership, folks scream “like Cornyn!”

I sent her news articles. Eventually I went home, after filing a few stories. And then I cried. I thought: shit, there's people who will kill us for doing our job.
It was my first job out of college, so everything felt more personal, and a lot.
That evening, one of my colleagues at @standardex posted on Facebook this. It was scary to know that we could also be a target on that same day. Luckily, nothing happened to us.
