At #SOTU President waxed on about employees streaming back into downtown centers (translation: hard lobbying from commercial real estate interests).

Realpolitik: The individual worker is an expendable cog. The market must be fed and protected at ALL costs. CDC is co-opted and its ambiguous messaging is meant to lull the currently-functioning worker into a false sense of safety and normalcy.

Im your excitement to start work, do NOT fluff over Conflicts process including sending new client/matter around to colleagues to check out!

As example, if you have a staff person who runs confl7cts checks against your firm database, things may look OK, but there is always that one time your colleague is about to file a lawsuit against your would-be client's dad.

Better to bow out early.

And please don't pester the conflicts staffer. They are doing this for your own good and know more about this area than you do. Get a cappuccino or something.
