Leave aside whatever views you have of MTG. Just put them in a corner for a second. OK, have we done that?
Now: think about the indisputable fact that not AOC, Bernie or a single Squad member could or would say most of what is in this thread, let alone in this tone, and ask why:
Yesterday, @AymanM -- one of the only non-Fox national journalists who has consistently warned of the dangers of the Assange prosecution -- hosted Assange's brother to explain the grave dangers to press freedom this prosecution presents:
And again, every major press freedom, human rights and civil liberties group in the US/UK are echoing exactly what MTG said about this Assange persecution. The utter silence of major left-liberal figures in the US is nothing short of disgraceful (as unsurprising as it is).
Hard to express how much better US political discourse -- and policy -- would be if the left had an actual anti-establishment dissident-leader like @JLMelenchon. But alas, it only has Dem Party loyalists like Bernie and AOC who play-act, then faithfully snap into line.
Now that NBC and CNN are filled with ex US Security State operatives on the payroll, goons like former FBI Asst. Dir. @FrankFigliuzzi1 (now of NBC) attack colleague @AymanM for calling Assange a journalist. Assange never even worked for CIA/NSA/DOJ: how he can be a journalist??
When you're a dissident, subversive threat to establishment power and the DC ruling class.
This was the most the radical left-wing enemy of ruling class power could muster when asked directly:
Sometimes reality is reality even when one wishes it weren't. The ruble at a 5-year-high against the dollar:

Feel free to believe this is a bit overstated, but even mainstream Western news accounts, forced by reality to change narratives, make clear it's not by much if it is all:
Meanwhile, NATO's Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg -- along with Boris Johnson and US officials -- are emphasizing more than ever: the West must prepare itself to support this war not for months *but years* more.
Every major civil liberties and press freedom group in the US united to urge the Biden Admin to drop the prosecution of Assange on press freedom grounds. Today, they're all doing the same.
Dems ignore this because their claimed concern over press freedoms were a total fraud:
And here we yet again see the fundamental difference between the international left and what pitifully passes for "the US left."
Left-wing leaders around the world have heralded Assange as a hero and condemned Biden. Left-liberal leaders are virtually all silent-to-approving.
Vital point from @BernieSanders about why the Dem Party is failing:
Democrats, "over the years, [have] been hemorrhaging support from the white working class, it is now losing support from Latino, Black and Asian workers as well."
Dem-loyal media elites cannot reconcile this indisputable trend - people of color migrating to GOP - with their foundational view that GOP is a party of "white nationalism"...
EXCEPT by arguing these non-white voters are too dumb to see clearly, which is 100% what they believe.
I spoke last night on Fox about the extraordinary win by @MayraFlores2022 -- a nurse, married to a Border Patrol agent, who is now the first Mexico-born Congresswoman in US history -- flipping an overwhelmingly Latino district (2016: +16 for Hillary) red:
It's vital to remember: the problem isn't journalism, but bad journalists who ruin the profession.
When journalism is done at its highest form - risking reputation, liberty and even life to expose wrongdoing by power centers - it's a vital public service.
Good article on the genuine, vibrant, spirited debate occurring on the right about militarism, imperialism and interventionism: think tanks and key media/political figures pushing an anti-war/anti-intervention agenda.
Meanwhile: no debate to be found among Dems, only unanimity.
When is the last time there was a meaningful foreign policy debate among Dems and the liberal-left? Every last Squad member and Bernie joined all Dems in voting for Biden's $40b war package. The only dissent was on the right: a minority, but substantial. Recommended:
(Note that @newrepublic's article and above tweet contains one error: Tom Cotton voted YES, not NO, on Biden's $40b war package for Ukraine.
These were the 11 GOP Senators who, along with 57 GOP House members, voted NO):
This result - Dems lose an overwhelmingly Latino district in TX that was +16 for Hillary, to a GOP nurse who will be the first-ever Mexico-born Congresswoman - is obviously humiliating.
That it happened during the Liz Cheney spectacle is hilarious. Doubtful it changed one vote.
As with Russiagate, elite media endlessly fixates on sideshows people ignore.
And if Latino/Asian/Black votes keep migrating to GOP, and it's GOP with pioneers like @MayraFlores2022, the media soon must reconcile these facts with its view that GOP is a "white nationalist" party.
Elite liberals in media and politics look around and see most large corporate media outlets vigorously echoing their ideology. They curate their social media feeds and cable outlets to exclude dissent so, for them, it disappears.
