Keep in mind DeSantis was trailing or tied generally before July 2018 in the Republican primary. Then he pushed ahead in July and never trailed. 2/
And what precipitated his move into the lead?
He made a very specific and public claim in April 2018 that he would have vetoed the red flag laws signed by Scott. Strongly implying he was opposed to them. 3/
Taking him at his word Florida Republicans gave him the nomination and in the general he just barely beat Gillum by 33,000 votes. How many of those votes came from gun voters who believed he was “a big second amendment guy”? 4/
But soon after taking office the courageous and unstoppable DeSantis quickly reversed himself and by August he was on TV explaining why red flag laws were beneficial and appropriate remedies to prevent future school shootings.
From a timing perspective I don’t see how DeSantis makes his entry.
On November 9th Republicans are celebrating a huge victory. Trump as someone who has rallied for many of those candidates claims victory and announces his candidacy.
Then on the back of a huge Republican wave where most candidates used their claimed association with Trump to gain advantage, what’s Ron’s argument or reason to enter?
The polls will all be showing Trump beating Biden and Kamala.
What’s Ron’s claim? That Trump is bad for party?
None of the Twitter hacks claiming DeSantis have even thought through any of this.
DeSantis would have to not only oppose Trump but effectively be opposed to an entire wave of newly elected Republicans who will all be bound to Trump as a function of his support in electing them.
The Democrats did us a huge favor in going to the parliamentarian and asking what could pass regarding immigration.
They’ve effectively clarified that with sufficient will we could transform many areas of society via reconciliation on one party vote with an agreeable President.
The more you rid the ranks of people like Murkowski and replace them with ardent Republicans, and the more you expand the Senate majority, the more policies you can effectively transform through reconciliation.
I’ll give one example.
What would the affect be on immigration if we fully funded the wall, hired 1,000 new immigration judges and hired 50,000 new ICE agents?
Of course data and evidence are rejected in furtherance of this theory that these views of one’s self and these preferences are not by choice but part of who a person truly “is” and must be explored and discovered in order for a person to be fully actualized.
The theory says that allowing puberty to take its affect on a child’s body in opposition to who they truly are is to do violence to them. As is dressing them in gender oppositional clothing. So the goal is to create an environment in which a child can discover their truth.
I don’t want to hear about how you think Judge Greer is wrong or how you disagree with him.
Not good enough!
You are letting a federal judge intervene in your county and do damage to our kids.
Enough is enough!

.@GlennJacobsTN it’s time to throw the weight of the county government behind non-compliance. Support any employee of your county that refuses to comply.
Left wing mayors refuse to comply with immigration laws every day!
Why are you allowing harm to our kids?!?

Force their hand. Give a speech ASAP explaining the righteousness of non-compliance with an order forcing your county to harm our children on a false premise that it is required by ADA.
You’re losing the confidence of your constituents.
Did you know that the core focus of the sanctions threatened by team Biden in response to a Ukraine invasion target Russian banks and are aimed at forcing a sudden devaluation of the Ruble? 2/5
