This is happening now.

PLA is apparently recalling retired soldiers to active duty in China for update training, including sacked personnel citing heighten domestic terrorism concerns. The recall includes PLA Naval & Air Force personnel from all over. Families of these

soldiers have been texting families of other soldiers they know asking what’s going on. Seems that some training or training exercise is being conducted or coordinated by the Eastern Theatre Command’s Navy base in Ninpoh. Private communications corroborate that their men

are travelling under orders to the same base & other bases on the eastern coast. The inclusion of airmen & naval personnel to bolster up the army in countering domestic terrorism seems odd at the very least.

This doesn’t feel like a general mobilisation but a prelude to one.

This centres within the Eastern Sea Fleets’ operational theatre.

These activities are immediately preceded on 14th June by #XiJinping signing off on the軍隊非戰爭軍事行動網要，loosely translated as the guidelines for non-war military operations of the PLA. The cumbersomely named

decree lists a
plethora of extraterritorial military activities & operations that the PLA is now expected to conduct that aren’t “war”. It literally echoes the language Putin has been using for the invasion of Ukraine - special military operations.

There may be any number

of plausible explanations for these events. Correlation is not cause & coincidences don’t prove the existence of nefarious plots. But the unusual events are following a pattern.

Despite outward appearances, #XiJinping ascending the throne & being confirmed der Führer for life

at the 20th National Congress in October is far from certain. His enemies within China, though deeply divided, are many & very aware that his grip on power may become near impossible to break if he is made leader for life & October maybe the only realistic opportunity to depose

him. Xi is keenly aware of this. This is the make or break moment of his dream of global hegemony or utter clan annihilation as his enemies, many of whom have had close ones murdered by his order, will be unforgiving were he to lose power. CCP clans are not known for their

magnanimity in victory.

Suppose Xi orders the interdiction of key Taiwanese islands & a no-go zone over a swathe of international waters which CCP had previously tried to claim sovereignty in 2016 & ultimately rejected by an international tribunal in The Hague, under the new

non-war military operations to counter piracy, smuggling or other pretexts under the all encompassing operational guidelines he had just put in place that allows him to wage war without calling it war by his definition, and suppose he does this days before the Congress convenes,

he would completely ties everyone’s hands because he would have committed China to war without on paper declaring war & changing leader at this point would be utterly unthinkable despite knowing that he engineered the situation.

Putin’s pigs’ breakfast of an invasion & the

bravery of the Ukrainians have given him pause but his own survival & his delusion to be the ruler of the world are at stake.

Is there anything we can do to avoid war with this murderous despot? Who am I to even suggest what to do to our own national leaders but perhaps

recognising we are heading to a war that Xi is determined to start is the first step in averting it.
