The quote is famous: "Do we have a Republic or a Monarchy," Ben Franklin was asked? Ominously, he replied, "A Republic if you can keep it." Please note that he was not asked about a Democracy. Let's discuss that.
2) It's not that difficult, really. A Republic is WHAT we are. Democracy is HOW we do it. We honor the vote of the majority in our elections...for representatives who create the laws, and for executives who execute those laws. That's a Republic.
3) From just this much we can see that the founders did NOT have a crystal ball. Remember, they were against political parties and could not have imagined the two-party system we have now, and have had ever since the turn of the 18th into the 19th century.
4) If you read the Federalist Papers, you'll read again and again their diatribes against "factions" and "factionalism." Substitute in the words "political parties," and you basically have their thinking. They hated the idea. Yet, that is what we rapidly embraced.
5) My political party history isn't strong enough, yet, to tell you much about how it worked prior to the 20th Century. In fact, even in our modern times, I have been very slow to comprehend the true dynamics we suffer. I feel I'm beginning to understand, now, though.
6) The story is told again and again. We on the right believe we have a true champion. We send our fair haired Mr. Smith to Washington thinking he's going to stand for us. He gets there and boom, corrupt just like everybody else there. And then it gets worse.
7) Worse? Oh yeah. We send our Mr. Smith back term after term, watching him get rich selling vote after vote but we never do anything about it. Thus, the principles of our Republic are shred to smith-ereenes. We totter on the brink of having lost it already, maybe.
8) Let's come back to that. We have to talk about evolution for a minute. Most people think that evolutionary competition is between lions and antelopes, or bears and salmon. But it isn't. Survival of the fittest has nothing to do with prey and predators, at all.
9) Rather, survival of the fittest is between cousins, or brothers, etc. Two bucks fight over a lovely doe. The fittest wins and propagates. That is how survival of the fittest works. It is competition amongst one's own specifies, against the other members of one's own species.
10) And that is PRECISELY what we do NOT get in American politics. There is a shill game going on. We're constantly pressured into voting for bad conservatives, why? Because defeating Democrats is all that matters, we're told. So, Mr. Smith goes back and loves his corrupt power.
11) Remember, again, our founders had no vision of our two parties when crafting our Constitution. They could not have foreseen how we'd be played by the two-party system into voting for weak conservatives in order to prevent Democrats from winning...where we can.
12) You might be surprised that I am in no way against our two-party system. I've known that for some time. What I didn't have was the answer. I think I have it now. Consider the other two candidates for Illinois AG, DeVore and Kim. They must be defeated.
13) Whether @shestokas wins or loses in the fall against the current AG, obviously a Democrat, is far, FAR less important than that we defeat DeVore and Kim, now. Besides, sending either or them in the fall virtually guarantees defeat then.
14) The language has now been settled yet. Is our species rightly termed MAGA Republicans, Trumplicans, who are we? Is the other species rightly termed Establishment Republicans, or RINOS? It is time now for a shameless advertisement of my book.
15) By whatever name we call our various species, the platform we stand for is well-captured in @KateScopelliti's and my book. The members of our species need to be vetted, yes tested by where they stand on the lines of what Kate and I documented. End advertisement.
16) This fierce competition over the very soul of America is absolutely a fight for survival. You know where I stand on @shestokas. He is good for America's survival, not just Illinois'. And he is in a primary on June 28, that we need to help him win.
17) Last historical point. How do we not love, long for, and miss Ronald Reagan? We can't count all that he did for us. But I am here and now formally REJECTING his 11th Commandment. Trump did so back in 2016, and thrilled us all. Now we need to do the same.
18) If we don't want to keep sending Mr. Corrupt Smith back to DC, then we need to get serious about our primaries. I say, we will NOT keep our Republic if we don't get serious about them. They're more important than the general election that follows.
19) @shestokas knows how to win his primary. But he needs our help. This weekend's goal was 60,000 perfect digital outreaches to his hidden voters, the Grabowskis. We'll soon know if we hit or missed our goal. Just $27 dollars here gets us 3,000.
20) Please remember, @shestokas' primary on June 28 IS a national event. Let's fight to keep our Republic. Let's help Dave win this primary. Let's let all the corruption in our land know, we're on the way. We do primaries.
Cheaters are boring. Their illogic is stupid and insulting. It leaves a bad taste in the mind. But someone has to call these cheaters on their fake polling, and that is my job.
2) We have to begin with the math. They called 677 Likely Republican Voters. (More on that below...) Half in Chicago, half in the rest of the state. Chicago has almost 4 million people, Illinois almost 13. But half and half, eh? Can you say slanted...a little slanted?
3) Now we're told that our man @shestokas hardly even makes the race, whereas DeVore and Kim have 20 and 18%. Hmm. How is this explained? Wait til you hear!
"There are teams that are fair-haired, and those that aren't so fair-haired. Some teams are named Smith, some Grabowski. We're Grabowskis."
~ Mike Ditka, Head Coach of the Chicago Bears, January 1986
2) We're going to dive right into politics. If you want the story - and it is a GREAT one! - behind Ditka's so-politically incorrect claim, do Czech out this article (did you see what I did there?).
3) My people - you know, the Scopellitiskis - are from the South Side of Chicago. I know the Grabowskis. They're rough, ready, hard-driving, hard-working, hard-drinking, hard-patriots. You do NOT disrespect America around them. They'll give you what for. Seriously.
My $27 buys 3,000 Incredibly Powerful Digital Outreaches
There are two things here I’ve never done. The first is to make a political cash donation. The second is to ask you to do the same thing, and to ask two others to do so too.
2) Dave Shestokas is, to my eye, one of the most important candidates in America today. He is precisely the kind of man we want in public office in general, and in specific he is flawlessly qualified to become the Attorney General in Illinois.
3) A peerless Constitutional scholar, Dave is 100% dedicated to MAKING CRIME ILLEGAL AGAIN. Let's focus on a single type of crime, one that has national implications: Election Fraud in 2024. With Dave as Illinois AG the Fraud Machine will quiver with fear. I mean that.
It is part of the playbook to create chaos and destruction, when what you wish to do is topple a society. Consider this video from 2020:
2) Who could have imagined that the wealthiest part of Chicago's downtown might be subject to such lawless violence. How can our nation lose sight of the fact that without law there is no freedom? It truly boggles the mind, and be clear, we face precisely such and worse, today.
3) In coming analysis, we're going to learn a great deal more about the office and obligations of the Attorney General, and specifically Illinois' AG. But there is something profoundly general, national about this topic. Every one of us faces loss of freedom through lawlessness.
11 June 2022 - Between The Lines Rides Again...Almost
Today’s earlier analysis #ShestokasForIlAG generated a tremendous response. It got dramatically higher impressions numbers than I’ve been getting, lately. But the private response was off the charts.
2) The most important, though, was an extensive conversation I had with @shestokas. In it, he explained what may well be the ultimate reason his candidacy for Illinois AG is a national matter. I'll connect that conversation to my beloved polling site below.
3) One of the most important powers that the AG has in Illinois has to do with his function during elections. Consider the election corruption that the Chicago Machine holds sway over. Now, imagine an AG ready and willing to fight them to protect true vote integrity.
@shestokas represents more than a pivotal point for Illinois. He represents a pivotal point for America. The Medievals had a beloved principle: As above, so also below. We’re going to explore that in Dave’s context, for America AND Illinois. Please read on…
2) For the Medievals, one of the most important aspects of that principle was the living presence of God’s will. They believed that what we see around us, here below, was the literal embodiment of God’s thoughts. To know His will, they studied its material expression here, below.
3) It is rarely taught, anymore, that all the roots of today’s scientific method harken back to the search for God’s Natural Laws. The Medievals were not done, though, seeing Divine Will from above. They inverted their statement. As below, so also above, they said.
