1/16 OUR RAPID & ACCELERATED TRANSFORMATION OF THE ECONOMY PLAN;
The CITIZENS government will come up with policy framework and turnaround strategy which among others includes the following:
2/16 Develop demand driven policies informed by inclusive policies and inclusive politics anchored upon an inclusive dialogue with all political actors, economic players, labour, business, civil society and academia with a view to build A NEW CONSENSUS and buy-in.
3/16 Our policies will be predictable, consistent and guarantee certainty - this will help citizens, economic agents, workers, business and investors to plan with certainty.
4/16The corrupt will be an endangered species& extinct.We will eliminate corruption, enforce rule of law, foster political tolerance, constitutionalism and respect of property rights,which, combined, are critical ingredients required to attract investment,savings and production.
5/16Resolving the debt crisis in Zimbabwe by engaging the multilateral community and opening Zimbabwe to the world.
6/16 We will make Zimbabwe an entrepreneurial society- new industries, new factories and new companies and new sectors and employing more.
We will embark on radical Central Bank reforms on the back of wide consultation with bankers, business and labour.
7/16 We will start with full dollarization and then create a conducive environment and the right confidence levels for the adoption of our local currency.
8/16As part of our de-dollarisation road map we will make sure that we meet the following:(i)fiscal consolidation;(ii) current account surplus;(iii)6 months import cover (forex reserves);(iv)stable exchange rate;(v)single digit inflation;and (vi) productive& competitive economy.
9/16 On the back of a well functioning economy,powered by prodctn &stable macroeconomic environment,we’ll provide a dynamic social services which-a robust heath &education system, well functioning welfare system &a highly rewarding civil service attracting workers from pvt sector
10/16The monster and beast we are taming; 1. In 2018 annual inflation was 5% but the regime has guided inflation to 837.5% in July 2020 and somehow managed to drop inflation to 55% in July 2021 after having used hard earn foreign currency from the exporters to bribe the economy
11/16 by dishing it out at unreasonably controlled rates - now they have run out of steam annual inflation is now raking havoc again and shot to 132% in May 2022 - its not turning back;
12/16 The 2019 budget was $8.1 billion but has shot up by 11900% to $960 billion in 2022 - its unprecedented! Fun enough salaries have not risen by the same magnitude.
13/16 Poverty levels as reported by ZIMSTAT shows that people in extreme poverty has risen from 29% (4.64 million people) to 49% (7.9 million people), that is, an additional 69% of the population was pushed into extreme in the last 4 years.
14/16 Civil servants were earning US$540 but teachers are now taking home ZWL$30,000 which is equivalent to US$42 ...Hospitals are now death traps ...women are being asked to buy consumables for them to be registered to give birth;
15/16 Likewise, the education system is in the graveyard. Parents have assumed the role of government by paying teachers incentives with a view to arrest the situation.
War veterans and pensioners have been reduced to beggers.
16/16 Corruption has reached alarming levels. The recent audit on COVID funds shows that the monies were squandered and the targeted beneficiary vulnerable groups never received anything.
Failure is written everywhere and all over. And we must end and fix this. #fakapressure

1/PAY WORKERS A LIVING WAGE:
WORKERS’ DAY is a special day to appreciate,salute &celebrate the amazing efforts,resilience and endurance of all the hard pressed workers who gave & continue to give their sweat and blood to building our ZIMBABWE great even under difficult and times
2/This Day,we remember that everything won was through the struggle & sacrifice of working citizens.A standing ovation to all the workers who keep the show going & our nation ticking.Workers are the backbone of any nation,being the turbines of history& architects of any society.
3/The historic struggle and militant tradition of the labor movement in ZIMBABWE have won us many victories that we still enjoy up to this day.Remember Burombo, Masotsha Ndlovu ,Jamela , Mzingeli, Nkomo, Sibanda, Tsvangirai, Matombo, Nkiwane,Chibebe and Mutasa .
1/8The economy is tanking and Zimbabweans are suffering at the hands of bad leadership, poor governance and porous economic policies. As the alternative government, we propose the following to be considered and adopted:
2/8There is a crisis of confidence in the market,citizens are suffering from the price hikes and deepening poverty level.All gvt policies must be demand driven,inclusive &fully consultative.The recent attack on CZI position paper by Gvt is regrettable and must never be tolerated!
3/8 Stop the auction system and go for full dollarisation - this will immediately remove distortions,multiple pricing,arbitrage, secure stability and save exporting companies from imminent collapse and help all businesses and economic agents to preserve capital.
1/4The brutal murder of Elvis Nyathi is a terrible assault on all human dignity raising the urgent need &necessity of collective leadership to resolve all issues affecting the region.The sanctity of life is debased when violence& Afrophobia become normalised in politics &society
2/4 We mourn with the family of Elvis Nyathi, who like many compatriots was forced into economic refuge by a tragic failure of leadership in his country and the region.Nyathi was was sacrificing to feed his family. He could have stayed in Zimbabwe if circumstances were different.
3/4The brutal killing of Nyathi reminds us yet again of the need to resolve the human-made governance &leadership crisis in Zimbabwe.Many wouldn’t have to risk their lives in a hostile environment if Zimbabwe was working. Help to resolve the crisis to fix the migration challenge.
1/4Today the world woke up to grave news of war in Ukraine.This is a sad day for humanity.War is bloodshed, misery & great suffering. In all this, women, children &ordinary citizens are the most vulnerable victims. Peace is fragile and it must be jealously guarded at all times.
2/4 Humanity has made great progress over the decades,but we are reminded once again of our capacity for self destruction.Its not as if the world has a shortage of problems. It’s utterly uncalled for to start a war when the world is battling a deadly pandemic & climate change.
3/4 Only yesterday, the African Union championed the theme of Silencing the Guns.The message could not be more appropriate at this time.We urge all the actors to give dialogue a chance. After all, guns and missiles are ultimately silenced by dialogue and diplomacy.
1/The economic ‘stability’ is fragile stability and is not going to last! The 2 giant elephants in the room are exchange rate disparities between the formal rate & black markets which are far apart by 100% (the black market rate is 2x the official rate) and corruption.
2/The exchange rate disparities and the punitive export retention negatively affect exporters – the goose which lays the golden eggs.This has created arbitrage opportunities and unofficial forex trading which will worsen the disparities, total collapse of the auction system.
3/Our New Government will institute a market-sensitive, people- centered & development-oriented sound economic policies which are predictable,consistent, investor friendly & business boosting thus fostering an enabling business environment which guarantees return on investments.
1/5Earlier today I spoke to Fadzayi Mahere who briefed me of the unsanitary conditions in our jails & her own positive COVID19 test after her unjust detention. Her situation exemplifies the despicable tactics being used by the regime to weaponise this pandemic against opponents.
2/5The unjust & prolonged detention of vocal citizens such as Job Sikhala, Hopewell Chin’ono & student Allan Moyo exposes them to unnecessary risk & further reveals the malicious intent of this regime in jailing opponents through unconstitutional provisions & repressive laws.
3/5The true tragedy of such actions is the failure of the regime to recognize that COVID-19 knows no political affiliation. It continues to affect countless citizens across the country without discretion.Only a sincere and responsible leadership will help slow the spread.
