Thread 1/ Jan 6 evidence of creation of false elector slates & sending to Washington DC - those actions alone satisfy conspiracy element of taking steps in furtherance of the conspiracy - same for efforts to pressure VP Pence & state election officials - it wasn't just talk.
2/ Bowers says "without sufficient evidence" - sufficient? Try without ANY evidence. Zero. Nada.
3/ Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ) - add him to the target list - Bowers testified that Andy Biggs sitting Republican member of Congress asked him to support the effort to overturn the election - that action by itself makes Biggs a part of the conspiracy.
4/ Senator Ron Johnson wanted to hand-deliver the fake electors - add him to the list.
5/ This evidence of Representative Andy Biggs & Senator Ron Johnson's active involvement in seeking to illegally overturn U.S. election places pressure squarely on US Department of Justice to actively criminally investigate the actions of these Members of Congress.
6/ Really disgusting watching Trump make those lies with all the trappings of the Presidency around him - what a disgrace.
7/ I want to know if Giuliani was under oath during that hearing in Georgia?
8/ Seems like Georgia State False Statements charge would apply against Rudy Giuliani: GA Code § 16-10-20 (2020)
9/"person who knowingly and willfully...falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact-in any matter within the jurisdiction of any department or agency of state government or of the government of any county, city - other political subdivision"
10/ Raffensperger testimony putting nail in coffin of every single lie Trump & his co-conspirators put out about Georgia.
11/Ok this last audio clip might help Trump with an insanity defense ...
12/ Very rare to record such a clear ask to commit a crime as Trump asking Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have" - for all of Trump's fanboy idolizing of gangster stereotypes - no intelligent mobster would ever inculpate themselves so blatantly.
13/ Giuliani's statement used hate-filled racist trope claiming Shaye Moss - a black election worker & her mother passing around usb drives like they were "vials of cocaine - heroin" he helped Trump bring down a rain of racist taunts & death threats directed at them for months.
14/ Heartbreaking to watch the devastation inflicted by upon Wandrea "Shaye" Moss & mother "Lady" Ruby Freeman by Trump & Giuliani.
"The system held but barely" Adam Schiff's closing - I respectfully disagree - it's not holding right now - it's still being broken - only criminal prosecution can stop that breakage.

1/ Jan 6 - Chairman Bennie Thomas makes good plain-speaking analogy asking Americans to ask themselves how they would feel if their local mayor lost the local election but tried to deny the loss.
2/ What a joke: Barr's self-serving testimony that it was smart of DOJ to look at baseless claims instead of following normal DOJ process to avoid interfering with elections - Barr actually dares to suggest things could have been worse if Barr hadn't ordered DOJ to greenlight
3/ potential election fraud investigation - what Barr really did was help Trump to gaslight the country.

"'I have nothing to do with this" is what Jim Jordan said to a former Ohio State athlete who reported sexual abuse by team doctor Richard Strauss to "Coach" Jim Jordan. Dr. Strauss - was accused of abusing 177 male athletes b/t 1979 - 1998. Strauss killed himself in 2005.
Multiple athletes reported that complaints about team doctor Richard Strauss had been made in the presence of Rep. Jim Jordan who was on the Ohio State Coaching staff from 1987-1995 a time period overlapping with the sexual abuse.

1/ Mike Pence's counsel Greg Jacob testifying that Pence's "instinct" was that VP would not have power to overturn electoral count - sorry I'm not buying this after-the-fact "sell" of Mike Pence's great instinctual ability as a Constitutional scholar.
2/ Honorable judge Luttig is really milking this moment (or he is just a ponderous speaker) he makes it sound like it's the first time he is contemplating his answers - still he is slowly helping build case that John Eastman was full of it -
3/ Good time to remember John Eastman published an op-ed in Newsweek raising racist "birther" theories about VP Kamela Harris. newsweek.com/some-questions…

Bill Barr now blatantly admits purely political motivation of his appointment of"Special Counsel" John Durham - Barr will be remembered as a disgrace to DOJ like Attorney Generals Henry Daughtery who resigned over Tea Pot Dome Scandal & John Mitchell convicted for Watergate.
Tea Pot Dome Scandal was the crown jewel of President Warren Harding's corrupt administration & resulted in Attorney General Henry Daughterty's resignation & first conviction of a Cabinet Officer - Harding's Interior Secretary.

I was walking with then-Attorney General Janet Reno one day when I served as her counsel - she stopped before one of the portraits of past AGs hanging in the halls of Main Justice & said to me "Shan, that's Harry Daugherty from the Tea Pot Dome Scandal - he shouldn't be here"

Johnny Depp/Amber Heard verdict: Judge's cryptic statement about compensatory damages needing to be greater than zero may be hint that jury went with Depp’s closing argument in which his lawyers argued damages can be zero & that Depp cared only about winning on liability.
Depp wins on defamation - now to Heard's counterclaim which I think is doomed at this point.
Well way off on the damages...will see about the liability for Heard.

Kudos to federal court Judge Reggie Walton for speaking truth to power by calling out U.S. Supreme Court for being only federal court that lacks any judicial ethics code - his remarks made at the National Judicial College.
Judge Walton - who I tried cases before when he was a DC Superior Court judge - is known for his independent thinking & tough sentences for violent criminals but important to note that he is responding in part to new law Supreme Court Ethics Recusal & Transparency Act (SCERTA)
passed by House Judiciary Ethics Committee which would require Supreme Court to adopt an ethics code finally that would apply to the justices as well as SCOTUS employees & staff. Such a code might prevent future Justice Clarence Thomas and Ginny Thomas type conflicts of interest
