What was the effect of Gov. Ron DeSantis shifting his politics to pander to Trump views on Covid-19? More deaths in Florida than anywhere else from the Delta variant and - unlike other states - more deaths after the vaccines were available. "Floridians died at a higher rate adjusted for age, than residents of almost any other state during the Delta wave, according to the Times analysis. With less than 7 percent of the nation’s population, Florida accounted for 14 percent of deaths"

In 1888, Hong Yen Chang fought for two years in New York state to gain admission to the bar because they would not admit a non-citizen to into the bar and the Chinese Exclusion Act prevented him from being naturalized - It took a special naturalization certificate issued by a NY judge and a special piece of legislation to get him admitted into the New York state bar. He then went to California where he faced the same obstacle the California court rejecting New York's action by stating:

Kinda tired of hearing language like this about Trump prosecutions: "Bringing an untested case against anyone, let alone a former president of the United States, carries the risk that a court could throw out or narrow the case" - untested cases are not harder just because of who they are brought against. If the case is weak then its weak without regard to who it's brought against - different standards for the rich & privileged is so ingrained into our system that most don't even recognize the disparity in standards including Attorney Generals...

From a moral point of view Trump holding a rally in Waco is a despicable appeal to the most extremist right hate groups as a political strategy it focuses MAGA Republicans on an increasingly narrow voter base. Waco is arguably one of the cradles of the violent American far-right Trump's " decision to hold the rally in Waco - best known for an armed standoff 30 years ago - has raised eyebrows. The 1993 tragedy is seen as a landmark event for the American far-right."

Meta, Instagram, Twitter, Zuckerberg & Musk are all business people looking to make money off of reinstating Trump to their social media platforms - what is Merrick Garland's excuse? Meta put Trump back on bc "the risk to public safety had “sufficiently receded” since January 2021" - understandable perception given the complete lack of any criminal charges against Trump or his co-conspirators.

Let's see if AG Merrick Garland will be in a big rush to appoint a third special counsel to investigate discovery of classified documents at Mike Pence's residence... Clearly a problem with packing up of non-Presidential offices and care taken with classified documents - Alberto Gonzales (when he left WH Counsel's office) Biden and now Pence.

Biden personal lawyers & WH continuing to do the right thing by fully cooperating in making sure no classified documents unaccounted for - latest search appears part of that effort - important to push back on GOP spin - unlike Trump's documents these were not known to be missing These documents came to light due to the diligence of Biden & those who work for him. Unlike Trump & his GOP enablers President Biden & his staff immediately turned over the documents & worked to cooperate with DOJ.

Well that didn't take long - jury finds Trump Organization guilty on all counts after deliberating only a day -shameful that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg so afraid to bring charges against Trump personally that he went against his own prosecutors & predecessor Alvin Bragg's predecessor Cyrus Vance had been prepared to charge Trump as well as the organization & two top prosecutors - Carey Dunne & Mark Pomerantz quit after Bragg refused to bring charges against Trump.

Mine are: 1. Fulton County Georgia is my top pick for derailment of the Trump train. I have long thought District Attorney Fani Willis is investigating Trump's interference in the Georgia election process poses the most immediate threat to Trump.

1. Trump's latest appeal to anti-Asian hate on Truth Social: "[Virginia Glenn Youngkin] Young Kin now that's an interesting take sounds Chinese doesn't it?" Let's break down that racism directed at the AAPI community "Interesting take" meaning any name that sounds Asian deserves deserves suspicion. Even his specifying "Chinese" reflects Trump's grasp of racism 101 where the very word "Chinese" is used like an insulting association.

1/ If Trump tries to ride what looks more like a red stain then a red wave by declaring his candidacy then AG Garland's DOJ must not worsen delay by appointing Special Counsel-the stain is deep & ruinous to democracy-timely prosecutions might have stemmed it & yet may cleanse. It's too late for AG Garland & DOJ to appoint Special Counsel.

So important to prosecute election law deniers who break the law - like this Wisconsin official who allegedly requested requested fake ballots to manufacturer fake voter fraud issue - she sent them to GOP lawmaker who now is suing to block counting of military ballots. The GOP lawmaker - Rep. Janel Brandtjen (R) - is chairwoman of the State Assembly’s elections committee.

I don't understand this: "So if you look at the return rate, as of (November 2), 48% of Democrats have returned their mail ballots compared with 55% of Republicans" - cnn.com/2022/11/05/pol… But I do understand this - "Part of what's happening in Florida is a self-fulfilling prophecy that people who don't believe that the Democrats can win are not voting. And because they're not voting, the Democrats can't win."cnn.com/2022/11/05/pol…

Special Counsel for Trump would delay justice-maybe forever. DOJ was late to this dance & appointing special counsel if Trump runs again gives Trump tool to further delay & more motive to run. If AG Garland wants DOJ to stay out of politics this is not the way to do it. There is no conflict of interest requiring DOJ to use a Special Counsel to investigate & prosecute Trump because he is not in the federal government now he is a former President and should be investigated & prosecuted same as any of us -

Guess Trump "Special Counsel" John Durham didn't impress the jury much - they just acquitted Igor Dachenko on all counts - or at least those counts the judge didn't already throw out - another defeat for Durham's three-year "investigation" & personally humiliating as well given Trump "Special Counsel" John Durham personally took over the Igor Dachenko trial, at times hostilely questioning his own witness after not liking how witness did on cross & then gave a closing argument in which he mostly attacked the FBI (hint: they were NOT the defendant) -
