Today I will tell you how they tried to deceive me and steal my MetaMask wallet data. I wrote a small thread in the hope that it will help beginner NFT artists to be more careful and not fall for the tricks of scammers
Let's go!👇

I am a beginner nft creator. A week ago I drop some of my nft arts on the @opensea site. I don’t have my own audience, so I used twitter and the discord channel “OpenSea” to talk about my art
A few days later, a stranger wrote to me in DM with an offer to buy one of my art and asked for a discount. His discord name was Buy/Sell-NFT✅.
Looks real, right?😅
The first thing he asked was who am I looking for a buyer or seller. I was looking for a buyer, so I wrote to him about it. He asked for a link to the OpenSea, chose one of the my art and asked for a discount Image
I asked him what discount he wanted, we agreed on a price, and he asked me to change the price in the Open Sea. I had no sales experience and didn't know how to do it, so I opened a page with art to try to change the price.
Of course, I didn’t manage to do this, because after listing in the Open Sea, you can’t change the price (or did I not understand something? 😅)
I wrote to him that I could not change the price and offered to send an offer to the Open Sea so that I could accept it. The buyer insisted that I change the price, but I wrote to him that I can’t do this because I can’t
Then he wrote that I should not worry and that he would send an offer now, but after a couple of minutes he sent me such a screenshot, and wrote that for some reason he could not send me an offer because I had some kind of problem with my wallet
Then he wrote that he had already bought many times in the Open Sea and knows how to solve this problem. To do this, you need to follow the link and link your wallet so that he can make a payment.
The link he posted looks like this. A well-designed site that can inspire confidence in its authenticity. It supposedly needs to be logged in through the MetaMask wallet or another wallet that you use (see how many wallets are at risk)
If you look at this site more closely, you will see that links to social networks do not work for it and this immediately begins to arouse suspicion, but you must admit that it looks very believable
In fact, during this correspondence, I thought that I really had a problem with accepting payments, since I still did not know how this usually happens, but despite this, I just wrote to the buyer again that my art can be bought, by proposing to the Open Sea
The buyer tried to persuade me to pass verification through his link so that he could buy my art. He was very persistent, courteous, endearing, and said that he wanted to buy my art, but he couldn't. Then I wrote to the Open Sea discord chat asking for help...
I wrote in the chat that the buyer cannot make an offer, and decided to solve this problem. Almost immediately, several people sent me a friend request
They wrote me in private messages to clarify my problem, after I told them everything, they said that this is not a buyer, but a scammer, and supposedly my wallet is now compromised, and I need to leave a request on another site to punish the scammer
As you understand, their links were also phishing, and were aimed at me leaving my data there so that they could access my wallet.
🔥What conclusion can be drawn from this story? Probably do not trust anyone in the NFT market, be careful not to enter your wallet details on suspicious sites, and insist that all payment and sale transactions are made on official NFT sites
If you want, you can share your experience or write advice to beginners in the comments😉
