It's been a week since the protests in Ecuador started. Workers, students, feminists have joined the indigenous movements.

Dozens of detainees, repression, raids on institutions by the government, human rights abuses have been recorded

Over the weekend, indigenous leader Leonidas Iza's car was shot at while Iza was inside. The bullet didn't go through the glass. The indigenous organization calls it an "assassination attempt" while opposition groups call it a "self-attack." #ParoNacional

The govt took over the biggest cultural institution to search for alleged war material. Nothing was found. Artists protest: “We are artists, not terrorists”. This place had not been raided since the last military dictatorship 45 years ago.

Some government supporters also marched in a counter “for the peace” called by the govt of Lasso. They say the mobilizations have stopped them from working. The people were recorded chanting racist chants against indigenous people.
On Monday afternoon, more than two thousand indigenous protesters entered Quito. They came from provinces such as Chimborazo, Cotopaxi , and Tungurahua to join the mobilizations in the capital.

On Monday night, tear gas was detonated on protestors by the Police. Many people suffocated by the tear gas and two were injured. Indigenous protesters spent the night in shelters that universities offer them. #Ecuador
#UPDATE: Universities and over 300 orgs have requested a dialogue between the government and . @CONAIE.
Indigenous leader Leonidas Iza, while marching today, has opened up to dialoguing and asked people to maintain order.

#UPDATE: A young indigenous man died amid clashes between protesters and police in the Amazon.

@CONFENAIE held the Police responsible for his death.

The National Police says that the person died "due to the manipulation of an explosive device."
#UPDATE: After 10 days of demonstrations, the following have been recorded:

79 people arrested
23 police officers detained
44 human rights violations
3 missing persons
2 people deceased
74 people injured
