With 4 corridors and 148 km of track, it will connect Bengaluru’s corners – KSR Bengaluru City to Devanahalli, Baiyappanahalli to Chikkabanavara, Kengeri to Whitefield, Heelalige to Rajanakunte.

A feasibility report for suburban railways was first done in 1983!

It sounded like simplicity itself: Bengaluru has railway tracks on three sides—East, North and West. Build tracks on the Southern side and voila, we will have a circular railway that goes all around the city.
Well, that was the plan.

Subsequently, eight reports (till 2017) have been tabled on the feasibility of suburban railway services for Bengaluru city.
For example, 2011 - Comprehensive Traffic and Transportation Plan, 2012 - Implementation of Suburban Rail Services and 2015-Suburban Rail System for Bengaluru.

In the 2000s, with traffic getting worse, mass transit came back into public discourse. Then years of back and forth, back and forth between the State and the Railways. Many moons, budgets and announcements passed by.

Meanwhile, thousands of commuters continue using passenger trains which doubled up as locals!

They even have their own community on Telegram, to help each other pin down the location of Bengaluru-Hosur trains!

Delhi govt's 'Happiness Curriculum' is based on the principles of the “Happiness Triad” model given by philosopher Agrahar Nagraj Sarman.
From nursery to the 8th grade, every day the first 25 minutes of school hours is dedicated to: mindfulness activity, inspirational stories and activity-oriented discussions.
This scheme, intended to transform school education completely, gathered applauds for the AAP govt from around the globe.

But there seems to be a gap between the intention and its implementation.

Groundwater is stored below the ground, in between the pores of soil and rocks, known as aquifers.
Unconfined aquifers (with ground surface on top and solid rock as the base layer) are usually shallow, and are highly susceptible to surface water pollution.
Two types of contaminants: biological (bacteria, viruses, parasites) and chemical (nitrates, metals and salts, etc).

Discolouration, cloudiness and bad odour are some of the indicators of water contamination.

If the vaccination process is on schedule, we could return to a semblance of normalcy in the next 7 to 8 months.

@raghavan_harini talks to @epigiri, Epidemiologist, Technical Covid Task Force, Government of Karnataka to understand why.

@raghavan_harini @epigiri Karnataka has begun testing passengers from the UK for the new coronavirus strain.

Given the unpredictable nature of this mutating virus and despite cases flattening out in India for the time being, it’s safe to assume that the pandemic is far from over.
@raghavan_harini @epigiri Since the virus is here to stay for sometime, we might as well program our thinking while living with the virus. To reiterate, masking and physical distancing should continue with full vigour. @epigiri says.
