It is critical that Doctors, PA’s, nurses, midwives & doulas can safely counsel + support their patients/clients.
It is critical that anyone who endures the trauma of rape or incest is not forced to face the additional trauma of carrying a pregnancy to term if that isn’t their choice, without duress, to do so.
It is critical we keep government out of our most complex & private healthcare decisions that affect us & our families — which is why I created a 12-Point Plan to protect us when I am Attorney General. #LawyerForThePeople
1. No prosecutions of women, doctors, PAs, nurses, midwives, doulas or pharmacies for providing or receiving abortion care. This includes providing care to those who require DNCs, women who’ve had miscarriage & those seeking Plan B or any form of birth control.
2. Use of County Attorney Supervisory Authority: I will utilize supervisory authority over County Attorneys to advise that prosecution of any of those above (num 1) for providing reproductive care or IVF services would violate the Arizona Constitution.
3. Refuse to extradite Arizonans to other states for prosecution & refuse to participate in any effort to extradite an Arizonan from another state following an abortion.
4. Guidance to Arizonans on how to keep their reproductive digital data private. I will issue comprehensive guidance to AZ families seeking reproductive care on protecting digital privacy, incl. apps that track locations, purchases & services tied to reproductive healthcare.
5. Work to prevent apps & internet companies from violating the privacy of Arizonans. I will aggressively pursue measures to prevent internet service companies & app owners from providing any private info re: reproductive care to any governmental or private entity w/o consent.
6. Fight subpoenas issued to medical professionals or others regarding provision of reproductive care.
7. Establish a crisis legal hotline inside the AG’s office for Arizonans. I will establish this hotline for women & others who are the subject of legal harassment by private parties or attempts by law enforcement agencies seeking to prosecute them. It will also provide resources.
8. Convene a working group of state legal leaders on reproductive rights. This group will include County Attorneys and others.
9. Convene a working group of medical & reproductive care service providers.
10. Work to ensure safe passage of women to other states for abortion care when requested. I will work with surrounding state Attorneys General (NV, CO, NM, CA) to ensure safe passage if they choose to seek reproductive or fertility care in those states, rather than Arizona.
11. Join pro-choice Attorneys General in federal legal actions aimed at bolstering reproductive rights. I will join other states seeking actions before federal courts to halt the criminalization of abortion.
12. Support Constitutional measure to explicitly enshrine the right to an abortion in the Arizona Constitution.I’ll aggressively support a Constitutional amendment formally & expressly ensconcing this right + other reproductive care in 2024, should the current 2022 petition fail.

🧵 Our current Attorney General, Mark Brnovich, has just waged war against Arizona women and our healthcare providers. Brnovich is falling back to a 100+ year old law, which would imprison doctors and others for providing abortion care.
This cannot stand. This will cause irreparable harm to our families, to our economy, to our businesses and to our healthcare providers. But most of all – this will harm women – and especially those women who already face numerous barriers to equitable healthcare.
As your next Attorney General, I will absolutely not allow the arrest or imprisonment of our reproductive healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, PAs, midwives, pharmacists or others. This is outrageous.
