This is really crazy stuff: the person WAS SO INFECTIOUS that they found the virus at a cycle threshold (CT value) as little as 10...that's extremely low...The rule of thumb is the lower the CT the more infectious they are:
The team obtained samples from 5 lesions on the infected patient: from that they found that had 2 separate variants! one from Germany and one from Italy:
'This Scottish case was linked to other sequences from continental Europe, indicating that this is an epidemiologically related outbreak of infections. Interestingly, the sequences from the five lesions was consistent with the presence of two variants, related to sequences...

In my opinion it raises more questions than it answers: BUT, it certainly is interesting to know that you can be co-infected with multiple variants of monkeypox at the same time: AND THAT IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING!!

This really is an incredible virus: to be infected with multiple variants like so early on in the outbreak and to have so many variants at all, is just something else: entirely-what is going on?
