The Kharkiv area has not had much news recently. There are small positional fights, but that has become status quo.
The Izyum area: Russia is firing artillery everywhere along the front. There is fighting going on around Krasnopillya (1) and Dolyna (2). Both are contested. Russia appears to have more control over Dolyna, but they also appear to be taking many more casualties there.
Russia tried to capture Bohorodychne (3), but they were repelled. I am curious how much control Ukraine has over this town. I do not know if the fighting is going on in the outskirts, or if it is actually going on within the town itself.
Either way, Russia is following their normal tactics: Attack, if that fails attack again. If that fails maybe attack one more time. And if that fails just shoot loads of artillery. We're in the artillery phase.
The Severodonetsk area: Russia is throwing everything they have at capturing this entire area. Within the city, Russia is pushing hard to capture the industrial district (4), and there is ongoing fighting.
There is ongoing fighting in Syrotne (5), and their assault was repelled in Borivske (6). I saw one Russian report today that suggested Russian casualties in Borivske were considered embarrassing, for whatever that is worth.
Russia captured Bila Hora (8), Hirske (9), Zolote (10), Novoivanivka (11), Rai-Oleksandrivka (12), Loskutivka (13), and Mykolaivka (16,17) and they are assaulting the industrial areas in southern Lysychansk (14,15).
It is official, the Zolote-Hirske pocket was lost. It is unknown how many Ukrainians were killed or captured during the evacuation.

As a result of this event it has been reported that Ukraine is beginning to pull forces out of Lysychansk (7).
Russia is still trying to push up the hill into Berestove (18).

The Russian terrorist mercenaries are attacking Pokrovske (19a,19b) and I have heard rumors that the town defenses might be weakening.
Russian mercenaries more or less captured Klynove (20) and Ukraine has pushed in a counter attack to try to take it back (21). Fighting is ongoing.

Russian mercenaries tried to assault Vershyna (22), but they were repelled.
Russian forces are trying to assault the Vuhlehirska Tes power plant, and fighting is ongoing (23). There is very heavy fighting around Semyhirja (24) and Kodema (25).
The areas around Donetsk, Pavlivka, Hulyaipole, Kherson, and Mykolaiv did not have any significant news that I am aware of. Today Russia launched a few very small scale attacks to the east of Hulyaipole, and the most interesting news that came out of that was..
the revelation that Ukraine controls the town of Neskuchne. I know Ukraine has had forces in this area for a long time, but all of the news I had seen hinted at it being a gray area. It now appears to be Ukrainian. It might still be a gray area, though.
Here is a video of Ukraine firing three Tochka-U ballistic missiles. It could be a coincidence, but I have heard much more news about Ukraine firing Tochka-U over the past few days as opposed to the prior 2+ months. Just in time for HIMARS?
Here is a video of Ukrainian soldiers destroying a Russian tank with a javelin. Pay attention to the left of the screen, you can see the infantry sneaking up on the tank.
Ukrainian soldiers require all the equipment they can get. In particular, they need armor. All sorts of armor. Tanks, armored personnel carriers, and infantry fighting vehicles get all of the news headlines, but they also need helmets and body armor.
Ukraine Aid Operations (@UkraineAidOps) is collecting money to buy helmets and body armor. A helmet costs €363 and body armor costs €187. A full body kit costs €550. You can donate any amount of money, $1, $10, €25, €1000. Every bit helps. donorbox.org/ukraine-aid-op…

My daily update! #ukrdailyupdate

Today is a bit light on news so I am adding fun videos.

If you would like to view the map, here is the link: google.com/maps/d/u/0/edi…
First, the Kharkiv area: It is not well pictured, but Ukraine repelled a Russian attack into Udy (1). There were also ambiguous reports of Russia attacking Pytomnyk (2) and Verkhnii Saltiv (3). I believe these attacks were overnight, as I found them in the morning report. Image
The Izyum area: Russia is firing artillery everywhere. Ukraine is targeting the main supply roads into Izyum with their artillery. And probably shooting other areas as well, I just don't have information on those targets. Image

My daily update! #ukrdailyupdate

I am sick so I didn't do as much research as usual, and I am not editing like I usually do. Also, not much happened.

Here is the link to the map: google.com/maps/d/u/0/edi…
Kharkiv area: I have seen unconfirmed reports that Russia captured Zarichne. This is a town more or less across the river from Staryi Saltiv. This would imply the only Ukrainian holding across the river is Khotimlya, which is reportedly heavily fortified.
The Izyum area: Russia is firing artillery all over the place. Especially into Chepil (top left) and along the river between Protopopivka and Petrivske (just south of Chepil) and along the river from Pryshyb to Donetske (the right of the map).

First, the Kharkiv area: Yesterday, Russia captured Hrakove (1) and then pushed down the road to Rtyshchivka (2). Everything else in this area is status quo.
The Izyum area: Russia is firing artillery just about everywhere, especially along the Siverskyi Donets river around Protopopivka, Petrivske, and Hrushuvakha.

Russia is continuously attacking and shelling Krasnipillya (3) and Dolyna (4), but the Ukrainian defense is holding on.

I'm turning Lubyazhe and Bazaliivka back to Ukrainian control from unknown because
A: I never heard anything about them losing them
B: Russia is shooting arty there today

Yesterday Russia captured Hrakove and attacked Rtyshchivka. This area has had more action than reported. Image
The Ivanivka I have marked there along the E40 in dark red is a Russian fortified town. It has been fortified for some time now. Novyi Burluk is another fortified town, but I believe it has been fortified more recently. Might be more I don't know about.
In very light blue I have faint Ukrainian presence in Vasylenkove, south of Bazaliivka. I don't know if Ukrain controls that area, but I have read reports of Russia shooting artillery there. That was a long time ago, May 4th, though, so I don't really know what has happened since

First, the Kharkiv area: Russia is launching another offensive. They are attacking Dementiivka (1), Pytomnyk (2), and south from Lyptsi (3). I am not sure how far south they've gone. I have marked the front line around Borshchova, but it is possible it is closer to Ruski Tyshky.
Rubizhne (4) remains an unknown, and could still be a no-man's land as both Russians and Ukrainians claim to control the general area, if not the town outright. My gut tells me the fighting is going on closer to Verknii Saltiv, which is just a few km south of Rubizhne.

People ask me how I know Russians are failing to attack certain locations, if I am relying on Ukrainian propaganda because Russian sources claim victories. It is because when I get info directly from the ground, whether via civilians or soldiers, it proves Russians are lying
And Russians are so bad at lying. There have been times where I know Russia captured town A and never attacked town B and Russia claims the other way around. The lies they tell don’t even make sense.
Like, today I saw a thing where they claimed to kill 30 tanks with a single missile. How is that even possible? Its a like 500kg warhead. Were the tanks stacked on top of each other? Maybe they got 1 or 2 but come on how stupid do you think I am?
