First, Congress is the House and the Senate
Democrats have a large majority in the House
This is why the House has passed so much legislation over the past 4 years
The Senate, however, is a much different story
The Dems hold 48 seats
There are 2 independents who vote with Dems

The GOP holds 50 seats
In the case of a tie vote, the Vice President breaks the tie.
Obviously VP Harris votes with Dems
Instead of a simple majority, the GOP can invoke the filibuster
Any Senator can debate their case endlessly until the procedure called cloture

Cloture occurs when one side has a 60-40 majority & the Senate votes
The filibuster is how the GOP has obstructed the Dems in the senate
60-40 is also the only way to get a vote passed in the senate

To expand the number of Supreme Court Justices, we need congress (both House & Senate) to vote to do so
Before we can even begin to think about having congress vote, Dems need to kill the filibuster with another vote in both houses
The House should be no problem

The Senate is a different story
We have the votes except we really don't
Sinema & Manchin have been very clear that they will NOT vote to kill the filibuster
Now we're down to 48 votes to the GOP's 52
What does that mean?
MIDTERMS

We absolutely must gain at least 2 more Senate seats
We have to hold the House and gain 2 Senate seats

To summarize:
For midterms we need to
#VoteBlue because our lives depend on it

Congress needs to:
Kill the filibuster with a House & Senate vote with the Senate's New 51 seat majority (excluding Sinema & Manchin)
Both houses of Congress must vote to expand the Court

And THEN President Biden can appoint new Supreme Court Justices
