Yesterday was a day of huge revelations for me
Besides the obvious rage & sorrow, I saw a lot of disturbing shit here
I saw a lot of disturbing shit within myself
None of this is meant to shame or preach at anyone
I'm sharing some perspectives Men have a very hard time sitting quietly & listening without controlling
This patriarchal system is so deeply engrained in all of us
I don't know how we'll ever deprogram ourselves
I saw almost no men ask women what they need
Very few offering support without dominance

A thread of seriously important facts we all need to know:
How/why to kill the filibuster
How to expand SCOTUS
How Many votes are needed
Why Pres Biden & Speaker Pelosi CANNOT
expand the Supreme Court
Why we need more senate seats
Where to focus our energy First, Congress is the House and the Senate
Democrats have a large majority in the House
This is why the House has passed so much legislation over the past 4 years
The Senate, however, is a much different story
The Dems hold 48 seats
There are 2 independents who vote with Dems

The tension is palpable
Waiting day after day for SCOTUS to dehumanize women by removing our body autonomy
This affects every woman in this country
I'm too old to get pregnant
Many of the women who've fought for our repro freedom are too old to worry about needing abortions But we still fight
Because we understand what's at stake and we know when one woman loses control over her body, we all lose
Overturning Roe is horrifying
It's an act of control over women
It has nothing to do with when life begins

Hey trump supporters and apologists. Please read:

I'm sick of trying to convince people that humanity and decency is more important than their cult leader and their cowardly political party
You still support trump? Still making excuses?
Congrats. You'd be making excuses for Jews disappearing off the streets of Poland and Germany. You'd be informing the SS of where your former neighbors were hiding with their families. 6 million deaths wouldn't faze you because your leader told you the Jews were taking away what was yours.

I’m asking a favor. Even if you don’t like me. Even if you hate my opinions.
PLEASE read this and consider what I’m saying. If you find some truth here, please retweet. This is a CALL TO ACTION for all resisters On the matter of impeachment:
-The House has the power to Impeach
-Only the Senate has the power to remove potus from office
-without removal from office, impeachment is a slap on the wrist
-assuming that trump will care about impeachment is questionable logic

I have a few helpful hints for newer resisters or anyone who cares to listen. I’m not a “twitter censor” as I was called earlier this evening
I want to help resisters build their accounts and I’m tired of seeing friends suspended. 🔹When you @ someone in a tweet or reply, it’s called “snitch tweeting”
Some people do it intentionally. Some do it to cause chaos. Some do it because they don’t realize that every time you @ someone, it notifies them of the thread. It also attracts trolls.
They are everywhere

My last doom and gloom post of the day, but it’s important
We all knew he would burn down the house when the end was near. That’s what he’s doing. Now we have to stay calm, keep pressure on our Members of Congress & Resist with all we have
Once that report is released, he’s done What we are witnessing is dangerous.
The firing of anyone who won’t pledge loyalty, expansion of detainment camps (who are they for?), refusal to hand over info, attempt to start war in the Middle East, dog whistle to neo-Nazis by misstating that his father was born in Germany

A random historical footnote: People you may not know about, but probably should. By Robert Peeples

When Frances Perkins was a little girl she asked her parents why nice people could be poor. Her father told her not to worry about those things, and that poor people were poor because they were lazy and drank. Eventually she went to Mount Holyoke College and majored in physics. In her final semester she took a class in American economic history.
