I thought, 'OK, I can go to uni later. There's no reason I can't do all the things I want to do ... I just have to figure it out. I might have no £ but there must be help available.' (Haha).
They did this all throughout my pregnancy & my entire young adulthood. Even when I got married apparently I looked 'too young' to have a kid 'so old' -- so therefore I must be 'stupid'.
When I come across one on here talking about how 'women need to take the consequences of their actions' like somehow they make babies by themselves like the frigging Virgin Mary, I ask them:
'I did what you said. I needed your help. Where were you?'
I tell them, 'I will be watching your profile. I want to see pics of you helping or donating to these orgs, or taking destitute women into your home. You need to put your money and time where your mouth is, or I will assume you're talking out of your ass.'
Also other related orgs like @Shelter that support people with housing, a significant issue for young parents when so many landlords are still 'No DSS'.
So on this historic day the #TivertonandHoniton win,
let's consider I was a whopping 42 years old before my vote counted for something *other* than the 'same-old, same-old'.
I've always been politically engaged my entire life. I have voted in every election, incl MEPs (yes those who are apparently 'unelected') & council ones, since I came of age.
Hell, I even voted when I was IN LABOUR - and by that I mean literally in the process of giving birth.
I have sent letters to my MP, gone to various meetings, read everything I can, spoken to candidates ... the works.
Yet despite all that, the ONLY reason my vote really counted yesterday was an accident
More on 'feminine wiles' - I have been told more than once - BY WOMEN! - that these are 'anti feminist'. So are female antagonists or fem chrs doing appalling things.
When confronted with evidence of REAL female abusers, those commentators will say its cuz they 'had no choice'
It's obvious what is going on here: those commentators believe women are inherently helpless/victims of patriachy and thus incapable of creating coping strategies or utilising skills to deal with it.
Oooh boy. So much to unpack here
For starters, denying women have any agency is HELLA sexist.
So is the idea men are automatically hard-wired to be violent.
Plus they are 'evil' despite hardship making them do bad shit, whereas women literally get a 'get out of jail free' card cuz she 'can't help it'
