1. Now that the MASVINGO WEST WARD 21 BY ELECTION is over, it is imperative that we demystify the circumstances we faced in the run up, during & after elections. I implore and think that it is high time #MUGWAZO is taken seriously without fear or favour @daddyhope@nelsonchamisa
2. The election in ward 21 was no meaner task bcz it was a litmus test of rural agenda , specifically , a resettlement area , a ward with plots, over 400 purchase farms, few professionals, 3 villages. The geographical distance of the ward covers from Bhati @nelsonchamisa
3. ...and is near the boundary of Masvingo Central near near Muchakata with MUKORSI POLLING STATION & NYAMAFUFU. It is not possible to campaign in that ward on foot of using fan cargos, or Honda fit but offroad. This means the cost of covering the ward is high @daddyhope
4. With all this in mind, the coming of the @ZANUPF_Official Vice President Mohadi Kembo did a lot damage with respect 2 this ward. The village heads, Plot chairs, Headmen were tasked to make sure no person would vote @CCCZimbabwe in the ward. It was deplorable @daddyhope
5. Ppl went thru a month of hell as they were frogmarched to attend Village meetings & branches everyday. Assurance was supposed to b made so that each polling station would not record more than 10 votes. With freebies & goodies @ stake, it was hell @JamesonTimba@nelsonchamisa
6. Ppl were forced to surrender exercise books we gave them during our visits at Nyamafufu & Mukorsi Polling Stations. Ppl braved the unforeseen and did not give up. We are grateful 2 those who didn't auction principles at the alter of Political Expedience @nelsonchamisa
7. A borehole was drilled at Gwira Polling station on 23/06/22. All the local ppl were told that if they associate with @CCCMasvingo candidate Mawarire O, they wll not benefit from the water project. This is despite the fact that @ZANUPF_Official used state resources @EfieZethu
8. The @ZANUPF_Official candidate was ferrying ppl with respect 2 Mushawasha Polling Station to vote. We had over 7 cars in the ward but by respecting the Electoral Act , we allowed ppl 2 come on their own. These transported voters were assisted @JamesonTimba@daddyhope
9. At Mushawasha, the @ZANUPF_Official branded car was stationed the whole day at the gate leading to the polling station. This follows the address that was done on Thursday that every voter will b closely watched & if any polling betray them, violence would brew @nelsonchamisa
10. The Ngomahuru Polling station defied odds by standing with the ppl. The % votes attained juxtaposed to 2018 shows an increase on the opposition. This is despite the fact that rural electorate were used to the #MDC name & it was the first time going to polls wth @CCCZimbabwe
11. A lot of lessons were learnt. This borders from the essence of community based candidate, inclusion of citizens in selection process, due & diligence consultation. 2 polling stations were used as a sample 4 the 2023 strategy & it worked @ellenshiriyeden@nelsonchamisa
12. Voter aparthy was high. Young voters left the ward in search of greener pastures. Some workers transfered from the ward. Some died. New voters were not allowed to vote as per electoral guideline. To us, we managed to server well in rejuvenation of our members @nelsonchamisa
13. The myopic & naive view that without structures work would not b done was founding wanting. Our Change Champions led by Masvingo District Deployees together with our hardworking ward coordinator strategically launched the offensive with few resources at stake @daddyhope
14. Preparation and the focus on the presidential support was well executed. The PSPPs & VPPs are now knowing the terms of reference to win Zimbabwe for change. The hardworking & dedicated Champions who offered their vehicles, resources, remains the unsung heroes @nelsonchamisa
15. Having these young dedicated cadres commiting their time to the fight for the emancipation of our masses as volunteers is no meaner task. Mpumalanga District was at the rescue by granting all graphic posters pasted in the ward. Volunteers executed the task @daddyhope
16. @CCC_Europe & @CccNap & local champions were there when the burden was heavy. Much gratitude & further details shall be shared internally. With all the intimidation & refusal by @ZECzim to call to order rogue @ZANUPF_Official elements who defy electoral law, we did our best
We are grateful 2 agents who braved the cold night at the polling stations defending the votes. We did manange to field 3 agents @ all 7 polling stations in the ward. When @ZECzim wanted 2 inflate 2 votes for @ZANUPF_Official , our parallel tabulation team was done @EfieZethu
The vigilance shown by the team guarding their votes is a reflection of the readiness of the footsoldiers ahead of the 2023 plebiscite. At the fireplace at Command Centre, the Change Champions were there to witness due process to the end. Votes will be defended @nelsonchamisa

1. An opposition activist from Chivi district was arrested in March 2024 after Faz members alleged he assaulted them during the elections. Mauto Masotcha was sentenced to 9months in prison & served the sentence at Mutimutefu prison. Adv @Advo_Mureri appealed against the sentence
2. The first procedure was an application for condonation of late appeal against judgement & sentence. It was a gruesome experience as the courts gave different reasons to the effect that the condonation was never granted. All the while, the convicted man remained behind bars
3. Mavuto Masotcha was released from jail in September 2024 after serving full sentence and surprisingly, the Masvingo High Court granted the condonation appeal in his favour. The legal counsel was advised to file grounds of appeal within 10 days @Citizensmovrad @TellZimbabwe
@MuvheyiCalvin is a former student leader at Gzu & @Zinasuzim former Provincial Chairperson for Masvingo Chapter. He was apprehended at the Masvingo magistrate court & his crime was attending a court session. In a case of mistaken identity, he was charged & put into dungeons
The defense counsel Adv Maboke on Saturday applied for bail & the matter was moved to Monday 12/08/24. Today, the magistrate advised the lawyer that the bail appeal shall be heard on Wed. This continued detention is a case of choreographed state antics against dissenting voices
For the record, @MuvheyiCalvin was in South Africa since last year after completion of his Studies at Gzu. He only returned home last week as a concerned resident of Masvingo & as a media practitioner, a graduate from media department @Cde_Ostallos @Citizensmovrad
We received the electronic copy of the voters roll for the by elections Masvingo Municipality ward 2. The voters roll was closed on the 18th of October. We expected to recieve the same VR used in August or with additions upto 18-10-23 @nelsonchamisa
To our dismay, the VR has 7/9 polling stations that are appearing. The VR has one name, Abidu Dickson, a male adult which is appearing in all the 7 polling stations @PacheduZW. The August final VR had 7k voters & now the VR has 5,8k voters @CCCZimbabwe @Cde_Ostallos
There are several scenarios from the observations. We are however still studying the August VR versus the By election VR, there is seemingly systematic political disenfranchisement which we suspect & once our team is done , we shall give reflections on the way ahead @ercafrica
EXERPTS OF THE URGENT NEEDS BY MASVINGO CITY COUNCIL TO THE MINISTER OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT
In his brief presentation to a stakeholders meeting convened by the Minister of Local government, His Worship Mayor Tabe Aleck highlighted the following @TheMirrorMsv @TheMidWeekWatch
The water augmentation plan phase 2 is a matter of priority. The urgent intervention of the government in respect of the local government ministry will go a long way in addressing the water woes of the city at a time the country is facing the outbreak of Cholera
Another important matter of interest entails the solarisation of all council offices and departments to make sure work is done even during the losdshedding era which has ravaged the whole nation. Such projects must be approved by the ministry if they are to see light of the day
One Tshabangu Sengezo recalled the @CCCZimbabwe Chiredzi Mayor Chikonye Rodger on the 16th of Nov 2023. On that day, the @ZANUPF_Official councillors & Town Secretary Eng Kauma pushed for an election that very day @nelsonchamisa
2. They then deferred the election to Monday (today) in what they regarded as special council meeting for the purposes of filling the vacancy. Our Cluster Leader Hon Mugidho & Hon @ropamakumire visited the TS in the morning alerting him of a pending court case in this regard
3. Engagement failed & when Hon Mugidho demanded that the TS sign the copy of the interim interdict issued by the High Court, @PoliceZimbabwe Chiredzi was called. When they failed to press charges against them, they were ordered not to interfere with the council programs
OF POLITICAL CONTESTATION, LEGITIMACY & DISPUTATION: ZIMBABWE AT CROSSROADS
1. The 2023 farce in the name of elections is ended but not concluded. With a number of organisations that came to observe the elections, expectation was: the regime will redeem itself @nelsonchamisa
2. The miss by the dispensation in Harare to usher in a new trajectory was a sign post of refusal to repent, needless to say that ZIMBABWE is in a deep sea of abyss & isolation because of disputed polls conducted against @SADC_News guidelines & principles @CCCZimbabwe
3. The run up to the polls was marred by shambolic gerrymandering in the name of Delimitation, skewed boundaries, manipulated voter registration against the hidden census report. Non consultation of stakeholders & flawed mathematical calculation on the threshold @daddyhope
