1/ THREAD: A profoundly important behavioral distinction is the difference between true belief — and that of 'a desire to believe' in the face of being lied to or conned. Once a person has been conned, for many people, there is an intense desire to still believe.
2/ People will twist themselves in pretzels in an effort to believe the lies they've bought into — to not see and to not face the truth.
3/ When people are conned and their psyche is trying to deny it, they become defensive and angry — even when in the face of clear evidence of deception.

• Mob behavior
3/ Republicans are openly praising, aspiring to, and blatantly embracing Machiavellianism, Low/No Empathy, and Mob mentality. And their behavior on all of these negative parameters is growing worse.
