A thread 🧵
I heard @AOC was quite the splash last night on #StephenColbert. Let’s see; she goes on *late night* to trash the administration & got rave reviews, claiming if Biden just came out for expanding the court, term limits for judges & nuking the filibuster. Bingo
problems solved! NO not one solved. But the administration led by VP has met with countless leaders from all over the country to look at practical timely solutions. She has brought together an army of ACTIVISTS who are working right now, not going on Colbert but WORKING. VP has
had several meetings with Blue State AGs. She knows they have the power to safely coordinate access to clinics in their states for women coming from Blue States. VP has met with other Civil Rights attorneys and health officials to coordinate safety for vulnerable women. The
actions will be very very local and the pieces are in place. I heard yesterday that the Lutheran church will house & help women seeking abortions. VP met with faith leaders. She has met with abortion clinic directors, with PP and other women’s rights groups to get pieces in
place. While AOC is using her social media & a bullhorn trashing Dem leadership & actively suppressing the vote, something I never thought a Democratic Congress WOMAN would do at this time, the VP & others are coordinating an army of everyday community leaders to help women. It’s
tragic and the media once again joins in elevating the wrong loud voices. Why are we talking hypotheticals like term limits or expansion of the courts when the votes are not there. AOC is in Congress, thinks she’s a leader, let her whip up those votes! Do people not see? AOC
doesn’t use legislation to make her voice heard, she uses Instagram, Twitter, entertainment shows. She plays to a naive audience. But she will never actually do the work needed to make real change. Right now we need to help our communities to help women. Check with your local
clinics. She how you can help. We don’t need tent cities on federal lands. We have clinics that can be expanded. Get out of DC and off social media and late night and HELP! Lastly vote! This administration has done so much to help communities, families, children. The AOCs have
actively challenged them at every corner while they got shit done. Ask yourself where was she even a month ago when this was leaked. NOWHERE. Oh maybe whining about student debt or some race in Texas. Well, VP and the cabinet were working overtime, organizing and guess what?
States and communities are ready to help because of it. This work isn’t flashy or bullhorn slogans. It is hard and takes dedication. Maybe AOC get back to Congress, start attacking the cruelty of the GOP. Do your job. Get a plan together w/sound legal steps. Stop harassing
Democrats and the administration. Join the workforce that the administration is harnessing. Make your choice.
Lastly thanks to the Biden/Harris administration for all the preparation you have done and will continue despite the AOCs of this world.
And please VOTE
A direct result of VPs work before and after the overturning of Roe. Thank you @VP and all these AGs for knowing this is how to get work for women done. It is not bullhorn politics. It is plans/policies/action. Vote for/support these leaders please. They produce!
One more thing. I find it interesting that @colbertlateshow let @AOC simply trash the Biden/Harris admin after the testimony we heard today from the Jan 6 hearings. If Democrats can’t stand together now at this dangerous time, we will lose our Democratic freedoms. Count on it.

So I am pretty upset that a narrative that the administration wasn’t prepared, isn’t doing enough has been floated by bullhorn politicians & some media so a thread of actions being taken by Biden/Harris led by @VP Here goes
The work began months ago, not when the decision came down
A 🧵
Democrat senators and representatives, put the bullhorns down, go home and organize the communities in your state and district. Helping women who need abortions and live in Red states is already in motion. @VP announced yesterday that they have been and are working on
safely getting women to established clinics in Blue states where they will be welcomed. VP stated the most vulnerable will have the financial support needed. Since the leak she has convened influential groups representing many fields including pro-choice activists, women’s health
experts, business leaders, state AGs,& community leaders. VP has built a network. We need to stop listening to ideas like building clinics in dangerous areas or areas that break existing laws and just use the resources & experts we have. Every Democrat should be working toward
Short thread: When every single day we witness @VP doing an insanely good job fighting for everyday people, meeting with countless advocacy groups, community leaders, small& large business leaders, women’s groups, Civil Rights leaders, congressional groups, foreign leaders and
lifting up voices never or rarely heard from, we have jaded reporters focusing on internal gossip mostly from unnamed sources but who really cares? We see her, we hear VP and we see how she connects with people from all walks of life. She has not just charisma but sincerity. VP
connects w/people because she genuinely wants to LISTEN, to LEARN and then to ACT. She traveled the nation advocating vaccines in areas where you don’t normally see a VP. She visited preschools and happily sat/interacted with the children to highlight early education. She
A thread about our @VP in Munich and how watching her lead on the world stage emphasizes that we have the right leader who will bring us into the future where new strong, diverse voices are needed to bring our world together, not tear us apart.
No matter how hard the press tried to cast doubt on VP’s ability to lead, calling it the biggest test of her vice presidency, we saw a steely resolve to unify and to lead. VP led w/grace, warmth & understanding that the need for a *community of united nations* is the message
I believe all of the media is missing or taking for granted the perilous state our nation was in when Biden/Harris took over. Trump and gang had gutted the gov’t. They had destroyed or totally ignored basic programs that had been set in
place by previous administrations. We saw it in health, education, HUD & of course immigration. But there were others too. The entire structure was weakened because everything depended on Trump. His lack of knowledge & respect of foundational pieces of our government weakened
our very ability to support our institutions that keep government effective. He knew this. Like he ran his own businesses, he want autonomy over everything. Enter Biden/Harris who both from experience understood you are only as strong as the pieces of your foundation. They
Honest question to @jemelehill. Why today when Dems are trying to unify on Voting Rights, take a UNITED front are you back tracking to defend the squad on their no vote that would directly hurt their districts & basically slap down a hardworking administration & Dem Congress. Is
this your way of defending voting rights activists who decided it was *smart* and *about time* to once again stand up against an administration & Dem Congress who are working day & night to pass voting rights? Are you saying it’s us against Democrats? Are your egos so big you
can’t join forces, work for the American people? Fights are hard w/ups & downs Unity wins fights. A strong front is impressive, it turns people’s opinions. Republicans get this. They always have. They stand behind cruelty like Trump, DeSantis, Jan. 6th. Stop cheering on division
