Hello. Welcome to this week's legislative horror show. 1/
No, that's not quite what Bostock said; it was limited to employment. But, also, SCOTUS, how could you muddy things like this? Entirely predictable. 2/
"legal recognition of" "truest selves"? Reality is government business; these feelings, however deeply felt, are not. 3/
No girls' sports. No single sex locker rooms. Why this drive to torment children? 4/
No female-only shelters. No female-only dorm rooms. 5/
No single sex restrooms, swimming pool changing rooms, gym locker rooms... 6/
@TheDemocrats This is monstrous. You are sterilizing children, stunting their physical and emotional development and rendering them medical patients for life. Why? 7/
You are intending to prohibit anything other than blind *medical* affirmation of confused children's ideas about stereotypical sex roles. Why? 8/
Yes, why track meaningful data which allows us to actuarially prepare for the retirement of our citizens, provide safety in inhospitable countries and create policy around crime and medicine. 9/
Activists have already taken over women's services; please do fund your own. But that's not what this means, is it? 10/
Interesting. # 6 above addresses "public accommodations." In contrast, prisons are considered "public facilities." This appears not explicitly seeking to sex-integrate "facilities" based on gender ID. Has word gotten out that mixed sex prisons result in rape and pregnancies? 11/
Utopia always just beyond reach. Right around the corner. 12/12

Do your friends, family, associates find it hard to believe that there are males in women's prisons and jails in 🇺🇸?
Do they have assumptions about what sort of males these might be?
Here's some data. 1/14
There are males in women's prisons and jails in 🇺🇸 largely due to regulations under the Prison Rape Elimination Act, known as PREA Standards. While the Act itself did not contemplate cross-sex housing, the Standards (at 28 CFR 115.42(c)) almost casually reference it: 2/14
PREA Standards (at 28 CFR 115.42(g)) also forbid having dedicated or segregated units for trans-identifying inmates. More aggressive litigation and enforcement has meant that informal such units have been disbanded: 3/14
Let’s walk through the cross-sex prison housing bill being contemplated in New York State. It may not seem possible, but it seems to be the most outlandish bill yet proposed in the States. Here’s the link: legislation.nysenate.gov/pdf/bills/2021… 1/16
Unlike most U.S. proposed laws (inmate seeks preference for cross sex housing), the proposed New York State bill provides that individuals shall be “presumptively placed” in accordance with their “self-attested gender identity unless the person opts out of such placement.” 2/16
How would one be eligible for such presumptive placement in cross sex housing in prison/jail in New York should SB6677 pass?
A few categories, which include: 1. Gender identity different than sex; and 2. Self-identifies as transgender, gender nonconforming, or nonbinary. 3/16
20 states suing Biden's Dept of Ed, EEOC and DOJ due to their inclusion of "gender identity" as part of "sex discrimination" resulting in gender identity dictating participation in school sports, use of workplace bathrooms, etc. @WomensLibFront@WhrcU apnews.com/article/sports…
@POTUS issued a series of Exec Orders in winter/spring 2021 which stretched the (terrible but) narrow 2020 Supreme Court "Bostock" decision beyond even its self-declared limitations. 2/6
Following Bostock, EO 13988 was the first @POTUS EO on the issue of "gender identity." It directed all federal agencies to incorporate "gender identity" into their interpretations of "sex discrimination." 3/6
A new day, a new Exec Order. Let's look at Sec 11 which covers gender identity in the federal workforce:
(a) every fed employee is to have their "identities affirmed and respected" (compelled speech (pronouns) by the fed gvt?) 1/6 whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/…
(b) "supportive services" are to be available for trans/NB employees who wish to legally, medically or socially transition
2/6
(c) comprehensive "gender-affirming" healthcare for federal employees and their dependents, including in the military ($$$$)
