He said he will get things done the way Marcow Sr.

He will not talk about the past but talk about the future. Gonna whitewash history?

Wow. The rhetoric is really about forgetting the past.

To the people he said: “You got by…”

He promises a gov’t that will pick people up and invests on the people.

“Government will get things done alone without relying on you”

Translation: WE DON’T NEED YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN GOVERNANCE. LEAVE IT ALL TO US

Listening to suggestions and being open to different views are worn out platitudes.

Way to express historical revisionism: “No looking back”

This is really really problematic

He is appealing to Filipinos to completely forget the Martial Law era and EDSA.

Priority sectors he’s talking about:
-agriculture
-energy
- OFWs
- education
- public health

He points out the PROBLEMS but no concrete economic goals - all motherhood statements right there

On infra:

- will continue the Duterte admin projects
- not interested in credit-grabbing LOL

He keeps referring to new ways of doing things to address problems on for energy supply, pollution and climate change

But what are they?

“I will spare you but I will not spare myself”

He has faith in the Filipino but he doesn’ want Filipinos to be partners for change. Sya na daw bahala.

I must say that that is a common sentiment among Filipinos.

I can see how the notion of leaving the work of governance would be appealing to majority of Filipinos.

Ironically, that is precisely what disempowers ordinary citizens.
