Ook #PvdA is trots op massasurveillance (wisten we al van de toeslagenaffaire).

Stel je voor dat je zonder misleiding een politiek standpunt kan hebben.

Kortom, je geeft toe willens en wetens massasurveillance te steunen.
Die essentie komt niet op losse schroeven te gaan. Een War on Bitcoin is nog moeilijker te winnen dan een War on drugs. En even ethisch.

Nog zo'n leuke privacy schending, onder een PvdA Minister van Financiën (je zou 'm nog op de VVD staatssecretaris kunnen afschuiven, maar die was niet de eindbaas).

Als Bitcoin een munt van het volk is (om in PvdA terminologie te blijven), waarom verklaar je dan de oorlog tegen het volk?
De open deur is al een paar keer ingetrapt, maar hij staat weer open: PvdA steunde de Sleepwet. Of is de Truman Show alleen voor bitcoiners?
Ik word hier zo moe van. Dezelfde Tweede Kamer die klakkeloos de ene na de andere draconisch anti-witwas wet afhamert en alle kritiek wegwuift, gaat weer "bezorgd" lopen doen als de VOORSPELDE consequenties uitkomen. Doe je grondwettelijk taak eens.

One lesson is that the US as a nation should never be taken seriously with regards to international treaties (by design). You should only negotiate with individual states. Sure, it's a bit more work, but it just means you go from 200 to 250 "countries".

This also implies NATO should work on treaties with individual states, so that when Trump pulls the plug in 2025, there's no meaningful gap in defence.

Not sure to which degree US states can commit to military treaties though, may have to wait until after their civil war (2040?)
Needless to say you should not own US federal treasuries for the above reason. They defaulted in 1971, they'll do it again. Don't count on Texas oil revenue to pay back these debts, they'll keep it.

But if they want to use every opportunity to FUD* Bitcoin, I'm happy to reciprocate.

* 1) some environmentalist staff member just had to put that remark in there
2) they decided to classify Bitcoin as Group 2 for obtuse but politically motivated reasons

That's two weeks to do (find and hire one of at most a few dozen experts, to perform) code review, find potential malware (in binaries), understand the dynamics of whatever the new hardfork rule changes are, test for integration bugs with your other systems, and maybe object.
But sure, the pretty website says it's not a complicated change, so don't worry!
Even if you don't do any of the above, just being able to wait and see for a few months or years, while others take the risk, is a really nice option to have.

Ethereum could have permanently removed this ice-age nonsense years ago to avoid these can kicking mandatory upgrades.

De staatssecretaris heeft toegezegd een aantal "microberekeningen" te doen om het nieuwe box 3 stelsel beter in kaart te brengen. Misschien kan VBNL samen met een fiscalist voor een steekproef van klanten een fictieve aangifte in elkaar zetten onder de nieuwe regels?
Vooralsnog lijkt Van Rij namelijk vooral met de dinosaurus ketenpartners te communiceren (banken) en geen benul te hebben van wat voor databrandslang op de fiscus af gaat komen als „crypto” niet voor de invoering van dat nieuwe stelsel ter ziele is.
Los van gegevensaanvoer kan het ook een beter beeld geven van de extremere volatiliteit waaraan stiekem best veel Nederlanders blootgesteld zijn. Ook al gaat het vaak maar om kleine investeringen (die plots en kortstondig je portfolio kunnen domineren)
