Government Spending Thread: The House will soon be considering govt spending bills for FY 2023.
These offices and programs are overfunded, redundant in nature, or outside of the scope of the federal govt.
Here is a breakdown of all the spending for the Dep of Agriculture #ampFW
$69.8MM for the Ag Secretary’s office; $8.4M for Ag Secretary’s immediate office; $1.3 million for the Agriculture Homeland Security Office?
Why can’t @DHSgov do it? $11.2M for the Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement? #ampFW
$30M for the Agriculture Chief Economist’s office. #ampFW
$170M+ for the Agriculture Offices of Hearings and Appeals, Budget and Program Analysis, Chief Information Officer, and Civil Rights. #ampFW
More than $300M for the Agriculture Statistics Service and the Economic Research Service. #ampFW
$1.1 billion for Agriculture research and education programs. Can’t imagine how woke these programs might be. #ampFW
$50M for grocery workers under the Farmworker and Food Worker Relief Grant Program of the Agriculture Marketing Service. #ampFW
$5 million pilot program to nonprofits to enhance farming and ranching opportunities for veterans. Not the proper role of the Dept of Ag. #ampFW
A highly suspect provision made it on the bill. #ampFW
$111B food stamps, $28B for child nutrition programs As diabetes, unhealthy living continues, millions of Americans, members of Congress should reconsider subsidizing the industries that are making Americans obese and dependent on the “health care” system. #ampFW
A start would be for removing sweetened beverages, prepared desserts, salty snacks, candy, and sugars from SNAP benefits. Americans must start putting effort into their own health if we want to solve the unhealth tragedy in America. @houseGOP@HouseAgGOP#ampFW

👀 Emulate #China by banning #TikTok?: "Republicans have come up with a national strategy to permanently lose elections for a generation: Ban a social media app called TikTok that 94 million, primarily young Americans, use." @SenRandPaul#ampFWampfw.org/3G3dhCZ
👀 "This GOP strategy comes while polls indicate that 71% of young women and 53% of young men voted for a Democrat for Congress. Many Dems have joined in calling for this ban but like most such issues, the blame will stick to Republicans more." #ampFWampfw.org/3lXGUhV
👀 "Ban #TikTok strategy comes while GOP simultaneously complains of US social media companies canceling, censoring conservatives. W/o a hint of irony, “conservatives” now agitate to ban a platform owned by an intl. group that includes Americans." #ampFWampfw.org/3lXGUhV
"Our administrators, teachers' unions, have ignored what they're there for, and that's to educate our children. They've gotten really political; they've had their ideologies that they want to push onto our kids—parents are tired of this." @LauraZorc#ampFWampfw.org/3KiSuxK
👀 Public schools in Florida spend nearly TRIPLE the amount of their private counterparts, around $21,000 a year compared to $8,000. Attribute the disparity to poor financial management on the part of the public institutions. @LauraZorc#ampFW@Newsweekampfw.org/3TXjWEf
👀 "There's a lot of waste and there's a lot of overheads that goes into the public schools. [The new Florida law would mean] kids are going to receive just as high-quality education, or even better, than the public schools." @LauraZorc#ampFWampfw.org/3TXjWEf
🚨 The permitting process has hamstrung American energy projects for the past two years. One of Biden’s first actions was to kill the Keystone pipeline.
🚨 For the next two yrs, the administration slow-rolled permitting for new oil and gas leases. This has been bad for domestic energy production, undermined American power abroad as Biden was forced to beg Venezuela and OPEC for more to meet demand. #ampFWampfw.org/3Kfaqcw
📡 House Watch – March 27, 2023: The House is in session this week.
The House will consider:

👀 For Senate watchers, FreedomWorks issued a key vote YES on the bill to repeal the 1991 and 2002 AUMFs.
We also scored YES on @RandPaul’s amendment to repeal the 2001 AUMF and will score YES on @HawleyMO’s amendment to establish an IG to oversee funding for Ukraine. #ampFW

😂 "The global warmist promotes picture of coastal cities literally going under water, all because the people now avail themselves of cars, air conditioner, and other mechanized advances that make living so pleasurable today." @johntamny#ampFW@rc_marketsampfw.org/3LUGSCm
😂 "The only problem with preaching about the hell that awaits us is that human migratory patterns and market prices disagree. North of 45% of the world’s population lives in coastal areas, and the previous number is expected to grow." @johntamny#ampFWampfw.org/3z69CAp
😂 "In concert w/ migration to coastal cities allegedly set to go under water is a surge in price of real estate. In the locales that warming crowd claim will be washed away, the cost of dwellings on what’s set to be washed away grows." @johntamny#ampFWampfw.org/3z69CAp
☠️ Dem Attacks on Musk Prove Their Support for Free Speech Is Dead: "Elon’s commitment to core American values is quickly turning into a nightmare for Democrats." #TwitterFiles#ampFWampfw.org/3G1lnwc
💯 "Free speech is messy, and a public exchange of opinions is often upsetting. But that is OK. Groupthink needs to be challenged. It’s a core tenant of reason." #Facts#TwitterFiles#ampFWampfw.org/3PCt8vw
🚨 "The fact that San Francisco is openly targeting Musk shows how far the city’s government is willing to go to quash their political opposition under Democrat Mayor London Breed." #TwitterFiles#ampFWampfw.org/3PCt8vw
