#bkdk, mild angst w/ happy end, violence

Craving barbarian Katsuki rn. He wears only his red fur cape, leather pants, and large boots. Everywhere he goes, he leaves the streets running red. Anyone who stands in his way gets brutally murdered.
He is a heartless, cold blooded, beast of a man, with a mission that no one can stray him from. A mission to win his beloved's heart back.
Long ago, he found himself a beautiful husband, who was sweeter than honey, as delicate as a flower, and more beautiful than the prettiest of gems. His Izuku was perfect.

But Katsuki lost him.
His bloodthirst pulled him away, and when he finally came back, everything changed.

While he was gone, bandits attacked the village, destroying homes, killing the men, and capturing the women.
The brute found Izuku standing, bloodied and broken, in the charred remnants of their home, a fire still alive in his eyes.

The words he spoke next cut deeper than any knife.
"Katsuki Bakugou. I thought I could tame that wild heart of yours. I thought I could make you love me. But it seems that the only thing you love is yourself. You abandon me when I most needed you, and for that, you will never be forgiven."
Everything hurt. It felt like his heart was bleeding out. Katsuki begged and groveled for his love back. For the light of his life to give him one more chance. But that light already fizzled out.

Although it was probably just to get rid of him, Izuku gave him one ultimatum.
"Find the legendary flower of Sol, and bring it to the palace of nymphs. Maybe then, through that hardship, you will have proven your love to me."

And doing what he did best, Katsuki set on his quest, leaving trails of blood in his wake.
The quest wasn't easy. The mythical flower was kept deep in the garden of the gods, guarded both by heavenly knights, and a beast from your worst nightmares.

But Katsuki wasn't anything if not determined. He trained, and trained, pushing himself to the limits and then some.
The vicious mortal fought his way through every challenge, tearing the armor off the knights, and ripping the heart out of the monster. He kept the skin and fur of the beast to craft a matching cape for his beloved once they meet again.
And there in front of him, nestled between rare plants and reaching vines, was the flower. It was beautiful. The petals were a crisp red, pointed tips vibrant and deep like the blood that dripped from the brute's sword.
It was about the size of his palm, and with normally rough hands, Katsuki gently lifted it out of the ground, careful not to rip the roots.

Placing it carefully in his bag, Katsuki set off again for the palace of nymphs.
With poison laced threats, and knives to throats, Katsuki scavenged for information.

His heart still ached for his beloved, constantly reaching out, desperate for affection. And while many beautiful people tried to seduce the blond, Katsuki refused them all.
They might have the softest skin or the finest clothes, but none were as fair or as perfect as his Izuku. His heart was Izuku's, and Izuku's only.

Katsuki was pushed to his limits to find the palace, having to hike up mountains and hills, air thin and cold as his food ran low.
But what really broke the indestructible blond was the sight that greeted him after he tore down the marble doors. The mighty warrior, the cold-hearted brute, fell to his knees, mouth agape and eyes wide.
There, sitting on a throne of emerald and jade, was his love.

Izuku was as beautiful as ever, green curls flowing like waves, and skin sparkling. His lips looked soft and plump, ready to be kissed.
But Katsuki held himself back. He didn't deserve this. He hasn't earned his forgiveness yet.

"I-Izuku?"

"Hello Katsuki."

Katsuki cringed a little at the name. He was no longer 'Kacchan', Izuku's dearest husband. He was Katsuki, a heartless bastard.
"Why are you here." Izuku cut to the point, eyes cold and face expressionless. It was hard for Katsuki to speak, words caught in his throat.

"I got what you wanted. T-the flower."

Pulling it out of his bag, Katsuki held it up, blood red standing out in the white marble hall.
Tilting his head, just like he always did when he was curious, Izuku leaned forward, clothes ruffling quietly. He was wearing a beautiful green, skin tight top, that had flowing lace sleeves. There were gems sown into the fabric to make intricate patterns of flowers and leaves.
To match, Izuku was wearing simple tight pants, with his feet bare. It was minimal, but gorgeous.

Although, Katsuki would still think Izuku is the most beautiful thing in the world, no matter what he's wearing, even if he's not wearing anything at all.
With soft steps, Izuku approached the kneeling barbarian. A small finger touched one of the petals, before sliding down the stem and circling Katsuki's calloused palm. It traced up his arm, around his bicep, softly grazing his Adam's apple, before settling on his cheek.
"You actually did it." Izuku said in amazement, a cute little breathy laugh leaving him. "You got me the flower of Sol."
"Of course I did." Katsuki responded meekly, eyes cast down as he held himself back from melting into the soft touch. "You said it was the only way to win your forgiveness back. I had to do it. My life is meaningless without you in it, my love.”
"Oh, Kacchan. I was angry and I said things I didn't mean. After watching you for these all these years from my palace, I don't just forgive you, I will give you my heart again."
Katsuki couldn't respond. His throat was clogged with tears that he so desperately tried to hold back. But once //Deku//, his Deku, leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his lips, it was like the dam broke.
Katsuki sobbed, shoulder shaking and hands desperately grasping at Deku's waist. Deku didn't care that Katsuki was covered in blood and grime, he still slipped into the barbarians lap and cooed at the blond, nimble finger running through his hair.
The two lovers stayed like that for some time, basking in each other's presence as their hearts slowly healed.

Pulling back, Katsuki gazed lovingly at his darling, tears having dried.

His large hand gently held Deku's small one, rough thumb caressing over old scars.
"My Deku. My one and only love. I swear upon this love we share, that I will never let another touch you again. I shall protect you with my life."

A soft hand cupped the side of Katsuki's face, bringing the barbarian closer till their lips almost touched, hearts beating fast.
"My darling, don’t die for me. You are a mortal, and your life is rare. Live for me. Fight for me. Hurt for me. But don't die for me.

I am the God of the forest, and this is my palace. No one can take me away for you here. You can rest easy, as I will always be by your side."
The two lived together for the rest of eternity. The barbarian, still as bloodthirsty as ever, now fought not just for the sake of fighting, but for his beloved god. He fought to find the treasures of the world, the finest foods, and softest clothes to spoil his love with.
And if anyone dared to hurt the brute, they had to face the wrath of an angry spirit.

Those soft hands would cradle the wounded warrior, comforting words being whispered into his ear, as vines and roots silenced the screams of those who hadn't managed to escape.
