A slightly different and far more angstier take on the ‘I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant’ concept.

#bkdk cw: major character death, death in childbirth, omegaverse, mpreg.

PH!Alpha BK, PH!Omega DK.

Injuries were far from uncommon in their line of work, and it wasn’t unusual for Katsuki or Izuku to wake up in a hospital bed. So when Katsuki found himself waking up to the familiar sight of the hospital ceiling, he wasn’t surprised.
He was however surprised to find Kirishima sitting by his bedside, eyes red as though he had been crying, staring at his hands. Normally Izuku would be the one sitting beside him, a book in his lap while he wore one of Katsuki’s hoodies.
Frowning, he tried to recall memories of the fight that had put him in the hospital in the first place.

Glimpses of bright white hair and a manic grin, blue flames hotter than anything Shoto could produce. Memories of Dabi’s laughter as the maniac tried to not only incinerate
himself but everyone around them. He recalls Shoto calling for him to withdraw, claiming it wasn’t safe, and his own stubbornness that led him to push himself through the raging inferno towards the man responsible for Endeavor’s death all those years ago.
Phantom sensations of burning skin have him shivering which inevitably catches Eijiro’s attention.

“Kats,” The red-head says forlornly, pushing himself up from the chair and taking a step towards the bed.
“Hey shitty hair,” Katsuki rasps, reaching a hand up to press his knuckles against his best friend’s side. Oh, he hadn’t seen the pristine bandages covering his skin. A quick glance over the visible parts of his body reveal matching ones almost everywhere.
That certainly explains why he can’t feel the majority of his limbs now that he thinks about it.

Kirshima’s hand settling gently on his shoulder pulls his attention back to the other Alpha.
“How’re you feeling man?” Eijiro asks. Were it not for the ten years of friendship between them, Katsuki would have never noticed the way he was almost cautious in his approach, eyes not meeting his and his voice belaying unspoken nerves.
“W’as wrong?” He questions, letting his head drop back onto the wonderfully soft pillow behind him. Eijiro startles, hand withdrawing immediately as though Katsuki had burnt him. “Eij.”
“Nothing’s wrong Kats,” Eijiro responds far too quickly and unsettled for Katsuki’s liking. “Just worried about you.”
“Don't lie to me E.” There’s a weight upon his chest that makes it a little hard to breathe, however, Katsuki’s determined to get the truth out of his friend as an unsettling sense of ‘wrong’ settles over him. He brings a bandaged hand up to rub against his chest
and is somewhat confused by the fact he cannot feel the pressure, though he puts that down to whatever insane painkillers he’s on. “Tell me, please.”
The sigh Eijiro lets out is defeated and the way his shoulders sink is an immediate source of concern. He’s only ever seen that behaviour once in the decade he’s known him and that was when Mina had been seriously injured and put on life support two weeks before their wedding.
Eijiro grabs the chair he’d been sitting in and brings it closer to the bed, dropping down into it heavily and laying one hand on the covers beside Katsuki who immediately takes it.
They’d been criticised more than once for their closeness, often spending times after hard missions or days curled up on couches together or with an arm around the other. Some had even accused them of cheating on their respective partners, but after the shit show that had been
the end of their first year in UA they were more concerned about simply being there for one another, and if that meant physical support when they couldn’t find the words then so be it.
“Eij,” He prompts, squeezing the hand with as much strength as he could muster, which admittedly, was not much.

“You’ve been out for a while Kats,” Eijiro eventually says, though his eyes remain firmly on the floor beneath his feet. “Two months to be precise.” Katsuki’s
brain screeches to a halt. Two months. He’d been in this hospital bed unconscious for two months. Holy shit.
“Two months?”

Eijiro nods. “You woke up a few hours ago, long enough for the nurses to come and check on you and give you some water but they said you likely wouldn’t remember.” And he didn’t. He supposes being unconscious for so long was bound to have some form of an effect
on his memory. “You were on a ventilator until a week ago, that’s why your throat is probably sore. The doctors weren’t sure if you were going to make it, the burns you got from Dabi were pretty bad. Hell, if Shoto hadn’t been there you’d have likely died.”
Memories of his skin bubbling and burning under the intense heat return then but are quickly forced away. Katsuki’s not interested in them right now, he can panic over his near death later on. Right now he wants to know what else is making Eijiro so nervous and uncomfortable.
His waking a few hours prior, despite him not remembering, should have been enough to waylay any fears of his impending death and it certainly doesn’t explain why Kirishima looks like he’s about to hand out a new death sentence. A quick glance at his legs and a wiggle of his
toes confirms that he’s not lost any limbs so he discounts that concern. So what bad news could Eijiro possibly have?

Then it hits him.
“Where’s Zuku?” Eijiro hunches over on himself and Katsuki starts to panic. “Eijiro, where’s Izuku?”

“After you were injured and brought in, Izuku spent every day sitting here, Kats. He wouldn’t eat or sleep until we managed to get Toshinori and Inko in to move him, and even then they still struggled. We were all so scared for you both.
You because we didn’t know how badly your injuries were affecting you, and Izuku because he was neglecting himself. Must have been about…I don’t know, ten days after you were brought in that he started to get these awful pains.” Katsuki shifts in the bed, heart racing as he
istens to Eijiro’s words. Had Izuku neglected himself so much in his worry that he’d made himself ill?
“Denki was here at the time keeping Izuku company and making sure he actually ate something. They thought it was just bad cramps y’know? The type Omegas and people with uterus’ get. But…” Eijiro trails off, running a hand through his hair. “There was so much blood Kats, so much.
His heart sinks, surely Eijiro isn’t about to tell him what he thinks he is. “Denki called for help immediately then called the rest of us because he didn’t know what to do. By the time we got here Izuku was already in surgery and Denki was a crying mess in the bathroom,
trying to get the blood off of his hands.”

Eijiro turns to look at him with solemn eyes and Katsuki’s breath catches in his throat at the same time the hand holding Eijiro tightens. “He was pregnant Kats, 7 months.” No, no no no. Izuku couldn’t have been pregnant,
he’d had heats twice in that time period. Unusual timings sure but there was no way his body would have let him go through them if he’d already been pregnant. “They said his muscle mass meant that the baby was hidden which is why he never showed and apparently some
Omegas continue to have regular cycles even when they’re pregnant, so there was literally no way short of a blood test that anyone could have known.”
Turning away Katsuki tries to control his breathing as he stares up at the sterile white ceiling above him. Izuku had been pregnant when he’d gone on his suicide charge. His mate had been suffering and gone through the loss of their pup while he’d been unconscious in this gods
damned bed. What kind of Alpha was he? He should have been there damn it! He should have been the one to hold him and take care of him! Instead, he’d been recovering from his own stupidity!
“Hey! Hey Kats! Come on, I need you to breathe for me!” Eijiro’s face appears above his and his hands gently cup Katuski’s face “Breathe for me bud, come on. In and out.” His hand is forcibly placed on Eijiro’s face and eventually, as he forces himself to match his
best friend’s breathing, his panic begins to recede.

As soon as he’s calm again and able to focus, Katsuki grips Eijiro’s shirt “Where’s Zuku? I need to see him.”

“Kats-”
“No!” He shouts, ignoring the horrible pain in his throat from the sudden overuse of his voice “I need to see him! He needs me!” He begins tearing the numerous wires and medical devices off of his body.

“Kats! Stop!”
“No! My Omega needs me! Let me go!” He roars, fighting against the hands that grab his wrists and try to forcibly keep him in place. “Let me go Eijiro! I need to get to him! He lost our pup he needs me! Izuku needs-”
“He’s dead!” Katsuki freezes in place, eyes going wide as he stares at Eijiro who at some point has begun to silently cry. “He’s dead, Katsuki.” Eijiro repeats, “Izuku’s gone.”

“No,” Katsuki shakes his head “No, you’re lying to me. I’d know if Izuku was dead. I’d know.”
Eijiro whines, his hands shaking where he’s still holding Katsuki’s wrists. “I’m sorry Kats,” His voice breaks “I’m so sorry.”
-

Katsuki’s pain-filled cry echoes throughout the hallway.

Denki, who’d been sitting in a chair beside Hitoshi, chokes on his own sob and hides his face in his Alphas chest, clinging onto him like a lifeline.
Shoto, sitting on the floor with his head in his hands, closes his eyes and allows his silent tears to fall to the floor.
As for Inko and Toshinori, the pair hold onto one another while Mitsuki and Masaru wrap their arms around them, and cry for the son they’ve lost and the one left behind. In Inko’s arms a tiny little bundle stirs, bright red eyes peering up at their grandparents as the
overwhelming scent of sadness hits their underdeveloped nose. The pup whines, not liking the new and horrible atmosphere but is quickly calmed by the four people who love them more than anything in the world.
No one is sure how Kirishima is going to tell Katsuki that his surprise pup is alive, but they can only hope that he doesn’t turn his back on the tiny innocent life as so many widowed Alphas have done before.

END
Again, free to use if anyone wants it!

And did Eijiro bugger up in how he told Katsuki? You betcha, but that's only because he's heartbroken and really shouldn't have been the one tasked with it.

#bkdk angst (PH!Alpha BK, QL!Omega DK), omegaverse, mpreg, BK isnt nice.

Katsuki goes to work in the US as part of a hero exchange, leaving Izuku behind to to take care of their newborn baby.

Everything is fine to begin with, they video call on a regularly, Katsuki watches from
afar as their baby goes from an infant to a babbling toddler. Then the calls stop. Katsuki's too busy with work and no longer has the time, and Izuku doesn't want to put pressure on him.
Five years after Katsuki left he finally comes home, only home isn't what he left behind.

Home is a tense building where his 5 year old child lives with their grandparents.

So an anonymous prompter gave me a challenge, write an angsty mini-fic in less than 250 words.

#bkdk Major Character Death!! (angst)

“Kaachan!” Bakugo’s mouth snapped shut, startled by Izuku’s sudden outburst. Watery green eyes met his as Izuku gave him a weak smile.
“It’ll be okay Kaachan, everything will be okay.” The building above them groaned as additional weight fell on top of it and Izuku sank to his knees, arms shaking in exertion. Katsuki followed him to the ground, his own hands reaching out to hold Izuku’s face.
“It’s okay,” Izuku repeated “Everything’s going to be fine.”

“I love you,” Katsuki choked out, leaning in to press his lips to Izuku’s “I love you so much.”

Izuku loves the rain.

He loves everything about it, the fresh smell, the noise, the temperature drop. It just gives him a sense of peace that nothing else has ever been able to match.
As a child he'd sit in his bedroom, his favourite All Might toy in hand, and watch it from an open window. In Winter his mama would bring the best hot chocolate to his room and they'd sit by his window quietly watching the rain together.
After moving into the dorms he sets up an umbrella on his balcony, makes himself a hot chocolate and sits outside enjoying the peace and quiet. Sometimes one of the vestiges join him, but he mostly spends the time alone.

cw: quirkless discrimination, child neglect

-

One day, years after becoming a Pro Bakugo goes to an orphanage on a PR visit and it changes his life forever.

As the children gather around himself and Shoto, his attention falls on a tiny green-haired child.
The boy's hair alone isn't anything remarkable, quite a few people have that hair colour after all, but it's the exposed skin covered in bruises and the small, filthy Dynamight plushie he's clinging onto that really sticks out. It reminds him all too much of the childhood friend
he turned his back on all those years ago.

Throughout their visit Katsuki notices that the little boy tries to get closer several times only to be pushed back by the other orphans or the caretaker themselves.

cw: implied suicide, murder~

What if Izuku followed through when Katsuki told him to jump then 10 years after Dynamight debuts as a hero, he's called to a crime scene where the victim's blood has been drained.

2 weeks another with the same death.

Then ten murders, then twenty.
He finally finds the culprit in the form of a green haired man with fangs and yellow eyes holding a corpse emptied of blood.

"Hi Kaachan!" Izuku laughs, waving at him and the other heroes while holding the body. "Surprise!"

"Izuku?" Katsuki whispers in horror.
"You'll never guess what!" Izuku giggles maniacally "Turns out vampires are real Kaachan and Papa was so pissed when he found me splattered on the floor!"

Katsuki and the other heroes take a step back as the body is flung at them and Izuku hisses. Yellow eyes turning red.

cw: mentions of human experimentation.

Quirkless Izuku is thrown out of his mother's house as soon as he turns 18 and has to survive on his own in a world that hates him.

Five years later Pro Hero Dynamight finds the emaciated form of his childhood friend in a cage during
a raid on a quirk trafficking ring.

He almost doesn't recognise the skeletal man covered in burns, scars and god knows what else but when those exhausted green eyes slowly open Katsuki's heart sinks.

"Izuku," He whispers in horror.
Auntie Inko said Izuku had gone to live with his father, she said he was happy and doing well. Not that he was half dead in a concrete cellar locked in a tiny cage because he was quirkless and therefore the perfect test subject.
