As someone who’s involved with tutoring trainee Pharmacists calculations for the GPhC exam, I will say my piece. This will be filled with anger, the anger coming from witnessing, the mental torture @TheGPhC have had on multiple cohorts due to their repeated incompetence

My advice for trainees for the upcoming exam has been:
Give it your best
GPhC will ask questions based on expected knowledge of a 1st day Pharmacist
BTL will be better than PearsonVue

I’m man enough to admit my errors but boy did the @TheGPhC not fail to disappoint

Firstly I would like to discuss the repeated acts of incompetence, carelessness, empty apologies, lack of action and integrity from our regulator

Please see photos included of repeated apologies and promises to fix the online model

Now evidently clear @TheGPhC can’t handle online exams. Unis have switched to online exams with minimal issues

In your previous statements. You’ve mentioned:
1) You’re sorry
2) Apologised
3)Top priority to fix issues
4) Preventing this happening again…

It’s now clear after three cohorts of online exams, your system is simply not working

For the trainees that have suffered over the years, the trainees who don’t trust you anymore

Can @TheGPhC state which lessons, reviews took place and outcomes, which led to the farce on 29th June

To trainees, Pharmacists and most importantly the public. It appears no reflection at all

A professional can at the very least expect proper reflection from their regulator

Moving onto the registration assessment on the 29th June. Your statement highlighted is of concern

This is your word, which trainees no longer trust. Make your surveys public to prove your statements

Trainees have informed me

The following which barely scratches the surface. Can you still claim majority were able to complete with no issues?

Issues:
Candidates using phones
Loud & distracting noise leaving candidates unable to focus
Trainees able to see others screens due to set up

Continuing

Some trainees were able to use non gphc approved calculators Questions which did not reflect the framework
Technical issues during the exam because of the system used

Make your survey public @TheGPhC so we can see the issues trainees experienced

From my group of trainees, the general consensus is this and previous experiences has quite simply broken them and they’re blaming you @TheGPhC as the sole reason for wanting to quit Pharmacy. Everyone who has sent me these messages has wished for confidentiality. See attached

The above is some of the issues trainees have experienced with the exam and I am sure future Pharmacists who see this tweet will highlight additional concerns

Your decision to give provisional access to trainees affected in Nottingham is poor also. Granting provisional access to brush your mistakes and trying to move on. Provisional access was for covid only. Not to cover your errors

Proposed possible outcomes

Loss of earnings, for every Trainee Pharmacist, from August until December as they’ve not been given a fair exam

A switch to a paper exam prepared with the utmost urgency

All trainees refunded in full, with no payment made for future attempts

Myself, trainee Pharmacists, the professionals on your register and the public are also interested in hearing your plans on how you’ll win back the trust of future Pharmacists

Repeated statements, with empty apologies lacking empathy and action is no longer good enough.
