The Republican men making abortion a felony fully understand that women raising children are less likely to show up in the workplace, in politics, in any place where they might challenge the power of conservative men. /1

Overturning Roe v. Wade is designed to suppress women’s political, educational and professional agency. “Keep them barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen” was never a joke. It’s been the political strategy of conservative men for generations. /2

White, male and christian supremacists all seek to guarantee that women's first and only role is to service men/reproduce. This agenda for controlling women is what Republicans are codifying into law in Texas, Louisiana and dozens of other states. #BlueWave2022 /3

Criminalizing abortion forces women to remain pregnant/give birth. Forcing women to remain pregnant against their will, is an act of violence on par with rape. Men who will justify the violence of forced pregnancy easily justify excusing rape. /4

Republican men are passing state laws allowing women to be interrogated by healthcare professionals, police, religious leaders, neighbors, etc about whether or not they are pregnant when women seek healthcare services or are planning to travel out of state. /5

All of which is designed to suppress women’s political, professional, and educational agency. If the Republican Party wins the Congress and White House they will toss out the filibuster and make abortion a felony with pregnant women required to register with law enforcement. /6

Our extremist SCOTUS has agreed to hear Moore v. Harper. If you don't know what the case is, it comes down to this. If the SCOTUS empowers the so-called independent state legislature theory, then those state legislatures will be picking our presidents.

For the love of god, if you care about women’s rights, about our most fundamental democratic institutions, get scared. Use that healthy fear to get active every day in crucial state and federal races between now and the midterms. We need a massive #BlueWave2022 or we’re sunk. /8

Easily half of American men are male supremacists. Some would be reactive to hear themselves described as such, but their inactivity on behalf of women's rights tells the true story of where they are. This means whomever you are, you can’t sit this out. /9

Folx are also reminding me that women convicted of a felony will not be allowed to vote. The Republican Party is paring away Democratic votes across all populations via gerrymandering, reducing voting locations, limiting early voting, requiring IDs, assigning election police./10
