On July 1, @TIME reporter Sanya Mansoor used the gruesome murder of #KanhaiyaLal to peddle the narrative of ‘Muslim victimhood’ and trivialise the security and safety concerns of the Hindu community in India.

Source: time.com/6193304/hindu-…
(1/n)
At the very onset, Mansoor shifted the discourse from the beheading of Kanhaiya Lal to supposed ‘chilling calls for revenge’ against the ‘marginalised’ Muslim population.
(2/n)
While trying to contextualise the murder, she suggested that the poor Hindu tailor had drawn the wrath of the extremists upon himself by supporting the ‘derogatory comments’ of ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
(3/n)
Meanwhile, Mansoor also championed the cause of the co-religionists of the killers.

“Muslim politicians and Islamic preachers swiftly condemned the killing,” she asserted while conveniently ignoring their collective silence over calls of ‘Sarr tann se juda.’
(4/n)
Hindus in India are caught in a state of dilemma.

They can neither demand protection from the State as they happen to be the ‘non-violent majority’ nor can defend themselves out of the fear of being called a brute majoritarian, oblivious to minority rights.
(5/n)
As such, the cornered Hindus are busy running social media hashtags, hoping to wake up the State from its deep slumber & amass global support.

Islamists & their sympathisers want to snatch away the last remaining recourse from the Hindus to voice their concerns. (6/n)
One such attempt was made by Sanya Mansoor in her vicious article in Time.

This became evident when she went on an unhinged tirade against the social media hashtag ‘Hindu Lives Matter.’ (7/n)
It must be recalled that the murder of Kanhaiya Lal by Riyaz Attari and Mohammad Ghaus is not an isolated incident.

7 days prior to his beheading, another Hindu man named Umesh Kolhe was hacked to death for supporting Nupur Sharma.
(8/n)
Several people, including TV actresses, have received death threats for merely speaking in support of the ex-BJP spokesperson.
(9/n)
In the days leading up to the brutal murders, extremists ransacked public property, set vehicles on fire and brought life to a standstill.

The common Hindu, unaware of his sense of religious identity, watched in silence while they created mayhem on the streets.
(10/n)
Their unabashed display of street power, coupled with the silence of their moderate co-religionists, have struck terror in his heart.

Remember, there was a Kishan before Kanhaiya and a Kamlesh before Kishan. All of whom were slaughtered on allegations of blasphemy.
(11/n)
Even in the absence of blasphemy, there were attacks on Hindu religious processions as evident from Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti celebrations.

(12/n)
While Islamist sympathisers tend to blame the communal violence on the BJP, a thorough reading of history since the 1980s suggests otherwise.

Read my detailed article on it:
opindia.com/2022/02/karnat…
(13/n)
One of the admirable qualities of these extremists is that they have an abundance of excuses to justify their heinous crimes.

And despite being the aggressors, they are well-equipped to pose as perpetual victims.

#NupurSharma saga & blasphemy is just an eyewash.
(14/n)
They are baying for the blood of the non-violent majority, who are left to fend for themselves.

The assertion of systemic violence against Hindus is real and vivid, which only remains invisible to the eyes of bigots blinded by Hindu hate.
(15/n)
Coming back to the @TIME article, reporter Sanya Mansoor sought the comments of one Dhirendra Jha, who has been described as a political journalist.

Jha happens to be a politburo member of the Communist Party (Marxist and Lenin).
(16/n)
Jha remarked, “Just because two members of that community commit this type of crime you cannot paint the entire community with the same brush...This is not good for Indian democracy.”

As evident from the above discussion, the murder of Kanhaiya Lal is not an isolated one.
(17/n)
Several Hindus have paid the price of such whitewashing of crimes, with their lives, only to be told that their death should not be used to generalise the Muslim community.
(18/n)
. @TIME reporter Sanya Mansoor also sought refuge in the ‘political expertise’ of a New Zealand-based Professor, Mohan J Dutta.

Described as an ‘anti-Muslim hate’ researcher, Mohan outrightly dismissed claims of systematic oppression.
(19/n)
The Professor suggested that the hashtag #HinduLivesMatters, meant to describe and uphold the value of Hindu lives, is somehow related to calls for ‘Muslim genocide.’

His past record sheds light on his diatribe against the amplification of Hindu voices.
(20/n)
.@HinduHate had pointed out how Mohan J Dutta had published a propaganda-laden whitepaper, wherein he alleged that Chinamaya Mission NZ and Vishwa Hindu Parishad are terrorist organisations.
(21/n)
When asked to provide evidence to back his claims, he resorted to name-calling and censoring Hindu voices.

He has also equated Hindutva with white supremacy on several occasions.

Read his detailed profile here: stophinduhate.org/hindu-haters-2…
(22/n)
Mohan has been open about his political affiliations and had urged the people of West Bengal to vote for the Communist Party of India (Marxist) during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
(23/n)
In the @TIME article, reference was also made to 'scholar' Angana Chatterji.

She had no qualms about contextualising the beheading of Kanhaiya Lal.
(24/n)
She hinted that his killing was somehow the outcome of a reactionary force from the Muslims, who are ‘oppressed’ by the Hindu community.

Chatterji claimed that the lives of victims of the Islamist onslaught in India had not been overlooked in a ‘Hindu-majority country.’
(25/n)
Angana Chatterji has been associated with the Jamat-e-Islami-linked Indian American Muslim Council since 2003.

According to journalist @vijaygajera , she has actively lobbied against the visa of Narendra Modi in the United States.
(26/n)
Throughout her article, @TIME reporter Sanya Mansoor used a brutal episode of Islamist terror to build a case against the Hindu community.

She pontificated that Hindus by way of their speech and actions have ‘rightfully’ drawn the wrath of extremists.
(27/n)
This becomes clear from her choice of ‘political experts’, who trivialise the beheading of Kanhaiya Lal in one way or the other.

International media propaganda must not bog us down. Social media is our last recourse for justice in a world of mute spectators & deaf ears.

Many people have forgotten that BJP won 16 out of 42 seats in West Bengal (the highest ever for the party from that State).

It was all due to the efforts of this man (@DilipGhoshBJP )

He would look the TMC in the eye and respond to them in the language they understand.

(1/n) Image
If the @BJP4Bengal wants to retain these seats or better its tally, I strongly feel that Dilip da has to be brought to the centre-stage.

Since 2021, he has been sidelined and replaced with rather 'meek' leaders in West Bengal.

(2/n)
The brute strength of TMC in West Bengal can only be countered with a similar brute strength from the Opposition.

A firebrand leader like Dilip Ghosh was almost an equal match to TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.

He instilled a sense of confidence in the local BJP cadre.

'Political farmers' who thought they can take the Indian State to ransom last time are finally getting the treatment they rightfully deserve. 🔥

(1/n)
Some of these 'farmers' had even laid siege on the Red Fort in 2021 and had the audacity to desecrate the Indian tricolour.

If the State would have cracked down on these radicals in time, then, the farm laws would have been in force by now. Sady, they had to be repealed.

2/n Image
Better late than never! These thugs, brandishing swords had thought that the Indian State would surrender yet again to their might.

They were given the surprise of their lives today.

#Important 🧵

A 'regime change' operation by the US govt is currently underway in Bangladesh, ahead of the January 2024 elections.

Attempts are now being made to distort public perception of Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina and present her as an ‘autocratic leader.’

(1/n)
Image
Image
Yesterday, @TIME put Sheikh Hasina on its front cover and accused her of comprising democratic values in the country.

It bore uncanny resemblance to the magazine’s hitjob against Indian PM @narendramodi in the run-up to the 2019 LS elections.

(2/n)
@TIME @narendramodi The vicious targeting by the US govt's embedded media apparatus comes just days after US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Peter Haas, directed the ruling Awami League to engage in dialogue with the Opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

#Important 🧵

‘Journalist’ Mehdi Hasan has been invited as a speaker at the 14th edition of ‘Tata Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest’.

He will share the stage with ‘journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai for a session titled 'Turn the Tide'.

Here is why Hasan is dangerous

(1/n) Image
Hasan is infamous for his 2009 video where he was head equating non-Muslims with ‘cattle’ and homosexuals with ‘paedophiles.’

He was heard saying, “Once we lose the moral high ground we are no different from the rest, of the non-Muslims, from the rest of those human beings who live their lives as animals, bending any rule to fulfil any desire.”

(2/n)
It must be mentioned that Mehdi Hasan is of Indian descent but was raised in England since childhood.

Although he apologised for his remarks in 2019, it becomes clear that his upbringing in a diverse, multicultural society could not rid him of his disdain for non-Muslims.

#WomenReservationBill (Simplified with example)

According to this bill, 1/3rd (or 33%) of all seats in Lok Sabha, Delhi Vidhan Sabha and all State Assemblies will now be reserved for women.

To understand this more clearly, let's look at the numbers.

Delhi Vidhan Sabha has 70 seats in total. 12 of them are reserved for the SC Community. There are 58 unreserved/general/ open category seats.

Women Reservation Bill calls for 1/3rd reservation across both the reserved and unreserved seats.

(1/n)
Image
Total SC seats in Delhi Assembly = 12

1/3rd reservation for women in SC seats = 4

Remaining General Category seats = 58

1/3rd reservation for women in General Category seats = 19

Total reserved seats for women (SC + General)
= 4+19 = 23

(2/n) Image
Every State Assembly has reserved seats for the SC/ST community.

So, 1/3rd of seats in those + 1/3rd seats for open category will henceforth be reserved for women.

The same math will apply to Lok Sabha where there are 131 reserved seats (SC/ST) and 412 unreserved seats.

Source:

Reservation for women in Lok Sabha (1/3rd rule) = 43+137 =180 seats.

#Remember: Women Reservation Bill will not affect seat sharing in Rajya Sabha or Legislative Councils (in some States)

A Pakistani handle @SAHR_Watch has been instigating communal tension in India for some time now.

On June 28, it falsely claimed that an 'upper caste Hindu individual' has brutally assaulted a Dalit police officer and made his condition critical.
