every time I sit down to write about #EverythingEverywhere I realize more and more how massive my ideas about this movie are and how I'm actually outlining books' worth of material

*holds head in hands* the amount of taoist philosophy I have to lay out to explain my read of the bagel

I think I'm going to have to painfully limit the scope of this particular one to just the philosophical aspects of the movie and save the chinese-american representation for another essay

*holds head in hands* the amount not just of taoist philosophy but also buddhism as it relates to guanyin but ALSO existential nihilism as descended from sartre & de beauvoir I *sinks deeper into hands* the ideas are so BIG

and not just that but *brain continues expanding* atheist agnostic humanism as refracted through chinese traditions *sighs* I have never fully articulated my worldview to people because people who think in terms of "religion" need So Much explained to even get to the baseline

but it's just... Important to me, especially in this political climate, to show people another worldview

this movie *points to hole in bagel as I climb into it* it was made for me

*sighs* one hour and 700 words later, I have finally arrived at *painful stare into the camera* the beginning of my essay, which is four essays
