Hard question. It's too big an ask, there are too many dimensions of perfection and no show hits them all.

I'd make it a genre course, and I'd make it about Faithpunk. The syllabus would be as follows:
1. Watch The Matrix movies and the Animatrix shows around it and pay attention not to what happens but simply to what questions they raise. In this exercise we're not interested in a critique, we're performing an audit.
2. Watch The Leftovers on HBO, all three seasons. Your assignment is to ask yourself, after every episode, what you think happened to the 2% and how your theory relates to the theories of the other characters.

Notice how you are a tourist whereas the characters are not.
3. Watch The Good Place! Enjoy it, it's funny and heartwarming! After each episode, ask yourself how this show relates to The Leftovers and The Matrix. Ask yourself if taken as a set you start to see a pattern emerge. Consider that pattern -- how would you describe it, name it?
4. Watch HBO's perfect season of Watchmen.

After each episode consider the ways in which different characters have reduced the complexity of reality into a manageable slice. Consider how those slices relate.

What is Doctor Manhattan's role, here?
5. Watch Wandavision.

Ask yourself: if reality is a story, then who do you trust to write it? Whose perspectives are being left out? Whose motivations are being hand-waved as unknowable?

How might the stories we tell relate to the power of magic?
There are other ways in, #faithpunk is still new and there aren't THAT many works in the field but if you open the door to past efforts that defied genre convention you'll find that a lot of them fit here.

Oh I'm halfway through Everything Everywhere All at Once and like, right?

I've been saying for a while now that WW4 is underway and that they're creating mass shooters in online mass shooter factories as an alternative to committing troops or drones to the effort.

They can kill countless American minorities this way and we act like we're not at war.
The problem is who is "they", right? It's easy to say "Putin and his psyops" but that paper tiger has gotten itself wet. It's more like, you have to understand that there is an organized fascist movement that is collaborating over national boundaries.

WW4 isn't between nations.
It's between The Klept, as @GreatDismal calls them, and the Western Democratic Societies we've gotten used to.

The Klept has a major advantage: Western Democratic Societies have stagnated and lost the ability to address their biggest problems.

Joe Rogan thinks this guy should be president, to be clear.
We've been shrieking "It can happen here" and then "It will happen here" and now "It's happening here" and still nobody can see it.

It's... it's wild. I understand how nazi germany happened now. Neurotypicals determine what's true by consensus not by evidence. It's easy to hack.
"Say, Myk, THAT'S a pretty controver--"

Not now, imaginary interlocutor. I'm grieving.

It’s really irritating how many educated and thoughtful people haven’t figured this out.

Listen: if you think it’s absurd to say that “the jews are trying to replace us” you’ve got to understand that it’s literally the same thing with “trans people are trying to replace us”.
That a bunch of loud white feminists have fallen for this is unfortunate. They have the platforms and they don’t understand yet in America what a TERF is and how this stuff works.

They’re promoting hate speech in the name of feminism, which is where the term TERF comes from.
It started out as a self-identifying label in the second wave feminist (or radical feminist) movement. 2nd wave was big on gender essentialism, ideologically viewed trans women as a threat to female spaces because they believed womanness is some intrinsic bioessentialist concept.

I have been exposed to too much of the right this weekend.

Between the Star Wars Is Woke And Ruined My Childhood brigade of middle aged men and the soul crushing conversation with my brother who is fully in the grips of fash propaganda I just feel crushed.

I’ll be ok but woof.
Like. There will come a day in the coming years, probably no later than November ‘24, when they finally decide there’s enough critical mass to mobilize and the shooting will start.

People will be murdered for their Star Wars opinions or haircuts.

Police will join in.
I’m not being hyperbolic to me this is as obvious as the fact that we’ll be engaged in some kind of military commitment by the ‘24 election.

World war is both profitable and a great way to maintain power, and it’s fully on the table.

I want to speak to “everyone who disagrees with me is a Nazi” accusations. It’s true that I use the term Nazi a lot. But what do I mean by it?

Is it “someone who disagrees with me”? No.

It refers to people who want to use the state to enact violence against a minority.
Nazi isn’t just a word for “bad guy” it’s a complex relation that encompasses everything from worldview to politics to behavior.

Nazis - call them fascists, call them confederates, call them whatever, Nazi is short - want a totalizing monoculture and will use violence to get it.
My favorite is all the people calling ME a Nazi for the Ukrainian flag in my profile name. It represents my ancestors and my connection to the struggle for freedom.

It’s really telling that suddenly everyone in the right got REALLY CONCERNED about “Nazi” symbolism.

Today has been a real test of my commitment to avoid ableist language.

I’ve read hundreds of tweets from people I just want to refer to in ways that denigrate their intelligence.

Then I remember that intelligence is not a predictor of decency or morality or virtue.
Yes, these people struggle to reconcile or understand any kind of complexity.

But so do many kind folks with learning disabilities who would never go online to harass strangers, so this isn’t quite it.

Yes, they have poor judgment. But many a fool is harmless!
What is it about a horde of strangers angry at an actor for expressing his political opinion that they feel the need to conflate him with his character and hold him accountable for the disparity they perceive?

As if Luke would be anti-choice anyway.
