The mayor of Akron and Akron PD are pushing a narrative in the media that protesters were unruly and violent. Well I was there and this video is a clip from my live. We were peacefully protesting on a street the city blocked FOR US to protest on when they tear gassed us [thread]
This was after earlier provocation when they lit up a “blue stripe” on the Akron PD as soon as it got dark. Why does this matter? Because the blue stripe became popular as a counter protest to Black Lives Matter. Now think about the context (cont’d)/2 
The protests were in response to the state sponsored EXECUTION of #JaylandWalker where they fired in excess of 90 rounds at an unarmed black man who was RUNNING AWAY from them, hitting him more than 60 times. So to respond to Black Lives Matter protesters with that blue stripe /3
Was antagonistic provocation and very tone deaf and intentional. The citizens can only take so much provocation from the blue stripe to the tear gas on a lawful peaceful assembly before they’ve had enough. So now the mayor declares of state of emergency, just know the REAL story.
