Gonna have a listen to what the main man has to say about Transport. #EfesoForMayor
First up is mention of @HendoWest's mini buses to Piha.
But the first policy announcement is fares free public transport. 🚌
Policy two may be Tik Toks on the train
💃🕺🚂
Policy 2: Improve frequency of PT - more reliable buses and trains.
Policy 3: Put 2 Auckland Councillors back on the AT Board (announced to a round of applause).
"We need to strengthen the connection between Council and Auckland Transport". 👍
Policy 4 is to have all of Aucklands ferries brought in line with the rest of public transport in terms of operations and contracting ⛴️
Policy 5 - last but not least - we need to reduce emissions from transport.
A solid commitment to climate action. 🌏
"Be bold and ambitious: Catch the bus (it's free)".

Imagine if a government agency spent billions of dollars every year literally making it as easy as possible to use a gun. 🧵
You could take guns to school, to the local shops. You'd take guns on holiday. Everyone would have a gun. Heck, the government would even subsidise some guns so they were easier for people to buy.
If you complained that you didn't feel particularly safe in this gun-saturated environment, and that perhaps not everybody needed a gun at all times, you would be called a radical, and at times threatened - with the very guns you were concerned about.
#InternationalWomensDay seems like a good time to talk about Women in Cycling, and how getting on a bike is #Feminism in Action. Grab on to your handlebars, because we're going for a quick tour of how #CarCulture reinforces the Patriarchy. 🚗🍆 1/7
Like it or not, women are still society's primary care givers. Which means that streets which aren't safe for children to move around on are streets where women are stripped of their transport choice.
👩👧👦🚳 2/7
Women have a tendency to engage in fewer risky behaviours. If riding a bicycle across the city is seen as dangerous, it's exclusionary towards women. Infrastructure must be perceived to be safe for ALL users. 3/7
