Lan Xichen looked up from the pot he was currently slumped over as his son sat down at the kitchen table. It was clear from where he stood that his son was in a bad mood.
The six year old had his arms cross over his chest, glaring at his empty
plate with such intensity that Lan Xichen was sure it would burst into flames.
“Hey sweetheart, what wrong?” He called out, taking the pot off of the stove so he could give his full attention to his son.
“NOTHING!” Lan Jingyi basically shouted, something he had never seen the child do before. The elder man gave his husband a puzzled look as Jiang Cheng joined them in the dining room.
Jiang Cheng shrugged, he clearly didn’t know what was wrong either.
“Are you sure this is a good idea, baobei?” Wen Shui asked worriedly, her brows furrowing worriedly as her partner ran around the room in a panic. “If they catch us leaving-“
“Darling, my love, my whole heart.” Qingheng-Jun whispered, walking
over and putting her head in his hands. “If you get caught pregnant with my child and we are not married the consequences will be far worse.” He sighed, letting his hands fall to his shoulders. “I love you so much, you know that right? I can’t loose you.”
“I know, I know.” Wen Shui replied, hanging her head in shame. “But surely there has to be another way.”
“There is no other way.” Qingheng-Jun said sadly, resting a hand over his girlfriends pregnant belly. “We have to leave to protect our family.”
