An astute move from Labour Leader @KeirStarmer. A confidence vote is unlikely to pass - but it might. This is is a useful foil to wake up the clueless Tories to avoid what would be a disaster which appears to be at the threshold. @BorisJohnson staying on as a caretaker.

Now Robert Buckland, and James Cleverly. (The appointments are being announced by @Twitter @10DowningStreet) These people should not be accepting these appointments. #RatsInASack

The appointments have to be approved by the Queen. And these Twitter announcements may not hold. This is completely bizarre.

The @Conservatives Party is going to lose the next election in a landslide, regardless what else happens. The party has been gutted by @BorisJohnson it is telling that he has to appears to have no choice but to appoint remainers to these roles.

Scheduling announcement: Boris’s resignation coming up in 35 minutes.

These “appointments” are meaningless, once @BorisJohnson resigns” he will no longer be able to make recommendations to the Queen.

A complete farce.

I don’t think @BorisJohnson intends to actually resign.
