Mumbai Court has begun hearing remand of 7 accused persons arrested by NIA for allegedly murdering a pharmacist who posted content supportint suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s Prophet remark.
Asv Sharif Shaikh arguing for one of the accused has submitted that the offence under section 16 of UAPA (punishment for terrorist act) is not made out.
And that there is no terrorist organisation involved.
Remand states that there is a conspiracy, there is one accused who is absconding. NIA submitted that there were similar incidents which have taken place. They have claimed there is a terrorist act and hence they have applied for UAPA provisions - Ali Kaashif Khan tells the media
They have submitted that all these accused are part of terrorist organisations. They have stated that there are more persons involved - Khan states.
