I know you’re mad as hell about the abortion ban that just passed in the PA House on a Friday night and what happened under the cover of darkness in the PA Senate last night.

I’m mad, too. And I’m going to tell you what we need to do about it: 1/

First, let’s recognize that the GOP has been planning to ban abortion for as long as I’ve been alive. This isn’t just about Trump or his SCOTUS appointments. They were just players in the long game to take away our rights. 2/

These constitutional amendments end run the Gov’s veto. Every single PA House Republican voted for Speaker Cutler. The Speaker decides which bills are debated or brought to a vote, and which amendments get considered. Without an anti-choice Speaker, these bills would not run. 3/

That means Every. Single. Republican. In the PA House is responsible for this impending ban on abortion. Yes, even those “moderate” suburban Republicans, who act normal at home, come to Harrisburg and vote just as extreme as any Republican you’ve heard of. 4/

Electing a pro-choice governor, while necessary, *is not enough* and cannot save us from these types of attacks. We cannot stop at electing @JoshShapiroPA this November. That’s only the beginning. 5/

In addition to winning the Governor’s mansion, we must win a Democratic majority in one of PA’s legislative chambers. Because of Dem Leader @Joanna4PA’s leadership, we have a better chance in the House than in the Senate. 6/

As Chair of @PAHDCC, I’m leading the fight to take the Majority and make @Joanna4PA the first woman Speaker of the PA House. That would stop these kinds of constitutional amendments in their tracks. 7/

Here’s what we have to do:
-Re-elect every @PaHouseDems
-Elect @JoshShapiroPA Governor
-Pick up 12 seats for the Majority
-Hold floor votes codifying Roe & expanding access to repro care

These are all *hard* things to do. I get that. But people are counting on us to *try*
