๐ŸšฉAmong all the rituals of Jagannath Rath Yatra of Puri, the most interesting one seems to be Niladri Bije.
๐Ÿšฉโ€˜๐๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐๐ซ๐ขโ€™ suggests Jagannath Mahaprabhu and โ€˜๐๐ข๐ฃ๐žโ€™ means to enter. This is really interesting as it is all about the continuation of the fight between Shri Jagannath and Goddess Laxmi.
๐ŸšฉNiladri Bije is the ceremony of Shri Jagannathโ€™s return with His siblings from the Raths to the main temple in Goti Pahandi. ๐†๐จ๐ญ ๐๐š๐ก๐š๐ง๐๐ข is the procession of the Trinity from the chariots to Ratna Singhasana.
๐ŸšฉShri Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra enter the Temple after they return from the vacation, but Goddess Lakshmi did not allow Shri Jagannath to enter the temple. A fight happens between Shri Jagannath and Maa Laxmi in front of the temple.
๐ŸšฉGoddess Laxmi was angry with Him; as He did not take Her along for the vacation to His auntโ€™s place. He had also closed the door when the Goddess had come to meet Him. Thus an angry Laxmi Devi didnโ€™t want Him to enter the Puri temple as He had disrespected Her.
๐ŸšฉEven after a lot of requests, Shri Jagannath was not allowed to enter the Jagannath Mandir premises. After He offered Rasgulla to Goddess Laxmi; an Odiya sweet made of curd cheese, She calmed down and accepted His apology and allowed Him to enter the Puri temple.
Before entering the temple, the Trinity would be offered โ€˜Rasagolaโ€™ bhog on the chariots.
๐ŸšฉWith Niladri Bije (homecoming of the deities), the annual Rath Yatra of the deities comes to an end and the Deities give Darshan to the devotees in the main temple.

๐Ÿšฉ On the night of Oct 10, 1938, the British police, who carried out brutal murders of innocent freedom fighters in a nearby village, asked him to ferry them to the other side of the Brahmani River. Baji Rout flatly refused.
