Facebook has hired DOZENS of ex-CIA + other govt agents to run its content moderation, security + trust & safety operations, meaning they affect what the world sees in their FB feeds.

@MintPressNews Studying various employment websites, it's clear FB is actively recruiting directly from the CIA to fill some of its most politically sensitive positions regarding content moderation, allowing them to wield considerable influence over the biggest media/news platform in history.

You'd never guess from this official Facebook video that this lovely guy was, until a couple of years ago, one of the most senior people at the CIA.

Now he's deciding what we all see and don't see on Facebook.

This FB/CIA collab is totally inappropriate because the CIA's job is to plant false info into the public domain.

The CIA has also overthrown govts, fomented coups, peddled drugs, sold weapons and hosts a global network of black sites where prisoners are tortured.

@MintPressNews I've also cataloged what I call "the NATO to TikTok pipeline" whereby a myriad of former NATO officials are now in influential positions at the social media giant.

But Facebook has taken it to another level.

Perhaps the most jaw-dropping hire I found was Facebook recruiting the guy formerly in charge of Middle East drone targeting for the CIA to become its senior manager for risk intelligence.

You might say "casinos hire ex card sharks all the time".

Thats true. But there's no evidence that FB is hiring whistleblowers/dissidents.

In many cases theyre going right from big govt into big media.

And it's increasingly difficult to see where one ends and the other begins

The bottom line is that the national security state is acquiring considerable influence over social media, and we ought to be aware of that.
