It would certainly be helpful if ANY of this background into who this man is was mentioned during ANY of the coverage of his filthy attempts to remove still more rights from the American people.

It's not strange so much as it's part of a larger attack that runs on using weaponized disinformation campaigns to leverage all the ills that a dramatically changing climate brings -- such as pandemics -- in order to put the global far right in power, all over the world
That's being done with the blessing and overt help (Cambridge Analytica was just the beginning) of corporations, particularly energy and tech. You can fight it with journalism, academia, unionizing, whatever fights coordinated disinfo campaigns aimed at splitting up social bonds.
