No matter who he was, how he treated his wives/they treated him, how he carried himself in media/politics - he's gone, reached his end & I find no reason for you to make your end miserable by speaking ill of the dead. [A Thread] 1/n
Was disappointed reading critical eulogies written for him online, but was not shocked. We are polarized in our opinion, lost respect for the dead [and those who are alive and we hate] - no matter how many times we were told to behave, we made sure to defy it. 2/n
We mistake defiance for khulli bad-tameezi. Defiance is about putting up a bold resistance, not to open the floodgates of our mouths to flood the world with our verbal diarrhea. 3/n
2 cents on #PodcastWithIK: @junaidakram83 & @hoflolz were either shit scared of @ImranKhanPTI or were in awe. Had no hard-hitting questions, kept on building context in his favor before asking a qs & ZERO rebuttals. @talhaahad was keeping IK in check. Kudos to him! (1/n) 🧵
@ImranKhanPTI is drumming old beats that will swoon #Youthias & #Imrandos only. Anyone w/ little wisdom knows @ImranKhanPTI builds towers of promises & then eventually falls from it. Give him 2/3rd majority & bet he will find a new scapegoat to carry burden of his failures. (2/n)
#TheMissingQuestions: no questions on #MasjideNabawi incident, #FarahGogi, #Toshakhana, growing polarization in 🇵🇰, seeds of hatred he sowed, collusion w/ establishment, economic failures & poor governance. Agar massage hee karna tha, to parlor le jaatey, podcast kyun? (3/n)
#GRACE is something one cannot expect from @PTIofficial, while it can be expected from the rest, even from the establishment. But, we can still wish & pray for a surprise from other side - best things happen unexpectedly.
A thread building case for more grace in society.. (1/n)
Grace and tolerance is not an act of submission, it's nothing to be ashamed of - it's in fact an act of defiance against arrogance. Forgiving, moving on with grace, and showing respect is the attribute of the strong, it's the weak who is unable to forgive. (2/n)
Capacity to tolerate, to accommodate and forgive are essential hallmarks for development of society. In my opinion, no society can progress without building safe spaces for graceful discourse, be it on the roads, the parliament, on social media or even under this post. (3/n)
