Sooooo the #MDprimary is (sort of) over, so here's a thread of noteworthy or fascinating results. Buckle up, friends. (1/X)
On the Republican side, far-right Del. Dan Cox has won the #MDgov nomination to pilot the Hindenburg in November. The Democratic race is too close to call between Wes Moore and Tom Perez, so we'll likely have our first non-white governor.
State Del. Brooke Lierman and Rep. Anthony Brown win the Democratic primaries for Comptroller and State AG. They are both heavily favored against Harford Co. Exec. Barry Glassman (R) and Michael Peroutka, the latter of whom has, er, baggage.
Former prosecutor Glenn Ivey looks like the winner in #MD04 over former Rep. Donna Edwards.

In #MD06, Del. Neil Parrott will go to a rematch with Rep. David Trone (D). He beats Madison Cawthorn beta-test Matthew Foldi, showing that "Twitter isn't real life" isn't just for Dems.
In SD-1 (Garrett, Allegany, Washington), Del. Mike McKay (R-Cumberland) wins the GOP primary over more moderate challenger Jake Shade. This is the reddest district in the state so he's Senator-elect.
In SD-3 (central Frederick County), Del. Karen Lewis-Young (D-Frederick) wins the nomination to succeed her husband, longtime Senator Ron Young.
In SD-4 (rural southern and eastern Frederick County), former Del. Bill Folden (R) wins the GOP primary. He's favored in November barring a Dem landslide.
In SD-10 (western Baltimore County), Del. Ben Brooks (D-Randallstown) narrowly leads Del. Jay Jalisi (D-Owings Mills). Either will win the general election in this solid-blue, majority-black district.
In SD-18 (southern Montgomery county), incumbent Sen. Jeff Waldstreicher (D-Kensington) looks likely to hold off a primary challenge from left-wing activist Max Socol.
Freshman Sen. Ron Watson (D-Bowie) narrowly leads PG County school board member Raaheela Ahmed in SD-23. This race will likely be decided by absentees.
It's a photo finish in SD-26 (southern PG County) between former Sen. Anthony Muse, a conservative Democrat, and businesswoman Tamara Davis Brown. We likely won't be able to call this one until it's certified.
In SD-32 (northern Anne Arundel), Sen. Pamela Beidle (D-Glen Burnie) easily defeats County Councilwoman Sarah Lacey.
In SD-33 (central Anne Arundel), Del. Sid Saab (R) and attorney Dawn Gile (D) will compete for the seat of Sen. Edward Reilly (R-Crofton). Biden won 57% of the vote here so it's the likeliest Senate district to flip.
In SD-34 (southern Harford), former Delegates Chris Miele (R) and Mary-Dulany James compete for the open seat. This is a very competitive race, but Miele is likely to be *slightly* favored.
In SD-35 (northern Harford and Cecil), incumbent Sen. Jason Gallion (R) wins with a plurality. He's very, very safe in the general but he could be the target of a more serious primary next cycle.
In SD-37 (Dorchester, Talbot, and part of Wicomico), conservative Del. Johnny Mautz (R) blows Sen. Adelaide Eckardt out by a 3 to 1 margin.
Winners of safe open seats in the House of Delegates:
1A (Garrett and Allegany): Jim Hinebaugh (R)
1C (Allegany and Washington): County Comm. Terry Baker (R)
2A (Washington and Frederick): William Wivell (R, inc.) and likely William Valentine (R)
3 (Frederick): Ken Kerr (D, inc.) and Kris Fair (D)
The third seat has yet to be called. Fair will be the first openly gay member from Western Maryland.
4 (Frederick): Jesse Pippy (R, inc.), Barrie Ciliberti (R, inc.) and FredCo school board member April Miller (R).
5 (most of Carroll and eastern Frederick): April Rose (R, inc.) and consultant Chris Tomlinson (R). The third seat has yet to be called, but will likely be County Comm. Eric Bouchat or Dan Cox-endorsed Sallie Taylor.

Republicans will be unopposed in the general.
7A (rural eastern BaltCo): Kathy Szeliga (R, inc.) and Ryan Nawrocki (R).

Longtime incumbent Joseph Boteler (R-Perry Hall) was redistricted here, but he only got 4th.
7B (western Harford): Freshman Del. Lauren Arikan (R-Jarrettsville) defeats fellow incumbent Richard Impallaria (R-Joppa) in a redistricting race between two of the most conservative members of the legislature.
8 (eastern BaltCo): Harry Bhandari (D, inc.), Carl Jackson (D, inc.), and Nick Allen (D)
District 9A in western Howard and MoCo is interesting. It has two GOP incumbents, one of whom is running for state senate, but gave Biden nearly 60% of votes. Likely Dem nominees are Natalie Ziegler and school board member Chao Wu, to face Del. Trent Kittleman and Jenny Zeng (R)
District 10 (western BaltCo): Adrienne Jones (D, inc.) and Jennifer White (D)
The third seat is yet to be called, with businessman Scott Phillips narrowly leading local Dem committeeman Ruben Amaya.
District 11A (Owings Mills): BaltCo member Cheryl Pasteur (D) is unopposed in both the primary and general for this newly created, majority-black seat.
District 11B (Pikesville and Garrison): Senior incumbents Jon Cardin and Dana Stein (both D) beat freshman Lisa Belcastro (D).
District 12B (far northern Anne Arundel): This district is likely to be legit competitive. Neither primary has been called, between David Buchanan and Ashley Arias (R) and Gary Simmons, Dan McGinty, and Jeff Garcia (D).
District 13 (southern Howard): Vanessa Atterbeary (D, inc.) and Jennifer Terrasa (D, inc.)

Third seat is uncalled, between Pam Lanman Guzzone, ex-wife of State Sen. Guy Guzzone, and educator Amy Brooks.
District 17 (central Montgomery): Julie Palakovich Carr (D, inc.), Kumar Barve (D, inc.), and Joe Vogel (D).

At 25, Vogel will likely be the youngest member of the legislature, and (don't quote me here) the first Uruguayan immigrant elected to any state legislature.
District 18 (southern MoCo): Emily Shetty (D, inc.), Jared Solomon (D, inc.), and Aaron Kaufman (D)
Kaufman will be the first physically disabled member of the legislature.
The third seat of District 22 (western PG) is uncalled between moderate incumbent Anne Healey (D) and progressive Ashanti Martinez.
District 23 is a five-way horse race. Currently the three leaders are incumbent Marvin Holmes (D), Kym Taylor, and Jocelyn Collins.
Incumbents Jazz Lewis and Andrea Harrison (both D) are likely to win in HD-24 (central PG), but the third seat is a tossup between LaTasha Ward, Chris Stevenson, and former Del. Tiffany Alston, who left office after being charged with embezzlement.
HD-26 (southern PG) is close with a ton of candidates, but the current leaders are incumbents Veronica Turner and Kris Valderrama (both D), along with challenger Jamila Woods (D).
BOTH Dem incumbents in HD-27 (southern PG, northern Charles and Calvert) lose their primaries.
Subdistrict A: Del. Susie Proctor (D-Accokeek) loses to Kevin Harris.

Subdistrict B: Freshman Del. Rachel Jones (D-Owings) loses re-election to this Calvert-based seat to pastor Jeff Long, who was supported by leadership in the district's sliver of PG county.
HD-29C (northern St. Mary's and southern Calvert): St. Mary's County Comm. Todd Morgan (R) wins easily.
HD-33A (western Anne Arundel): County Councilman Andrew Pruski (D) has a modest lead.
HD-33B (west-central AA): Stuart Schmidt (R) vs. John Wakefield (D)
HD-34A (south Harford): Steve Johnson (D, inc.) and County Councilman Andre Johnson (D). (no relation)
Andre Johnson will likely be the first black Delegate from Harford County.
