Independence Day Speech by President Buhari on October 1, 2021:
statehouse.gov.ng/news/independe…
“The Falcon Eye System is a state-of-the-art surveillance system that incorporates various sensors located along the nation’s enormous coastline, such as radars, long-range electro-optic systems, automatic identification system receivers, weather stations…” yemiosinbajo.ng/commissioning-…
#FalconEye and #DeepBlue. State-of-the-Art Maritime surveillance systems that were both commissioned in June and July 2021, by President @MBuhari and VP @ProfOsinbajo (representing the President).
The #NigerianNavy’s #FalconEye Maritime Surveillance and Intelligence system. Commissioned by VP @ProfOsinbajo on behalf of President @MBuhari in July 2021.
An important caveat. This is not to say everything is now perfect. No. Vigilance is key, the progress made has to be sustained and improved upon. Only then can we begin to see the expected impact, like a reduction in the insurance premiums on vessels sailing in Nigerian waters.

19 Black students who matriculated at Cambridge Uni’s Clare College between 1916 and 1973:

More than 10 of them are Nigerian. I’ve been Googling some of the names to see what they went on to do.
Theophilus Ayo Bankole: organist, composer, musicologist. Studied at @guildhallschool and @Cambridge_Uni. His last major work was a Cantata for FESTAC ‘77. Unfortunately he didn’t live to see FESTAC, he and wife were murdered (by his half-brother) in Lagos in November 1976.
Nwakanma Okoro: Lawyer and Politician. Among the second set of lawyers to be awarded SAN, in 1978, alongside Obafemi Awolowo, Ben Nwabueze, Kehinde Sofola, GOK Ajayi, Remi Fani-Kayode etc.
@NigBarAssoc President, 1976-78. Founding member of NPN, and its first National Secretary.

Kano is the undisputed Rice Capital of Nigeria.

“According to him, before the coming of President @MBuhari, the number of millers with good machines in the market were less than 100, but that presently it has gone up to about 1,000…” dailytrust.com/rice-revolutio…
“Daily Trust caught up with some of the customers, Kelechi Onyinye & Chinyere Okafor, from the South East, who have been in the business for about five years. They said the quality of the rice from Kano had improved tremendously & was cheaper than what they got in other States.”
“Rice farmers don’t have a problem here at all. If you want buyers even at the farm gate they will come. We have many processing mills; the market is always there, so the problem of whether your [rice] will not be bought at a good price… is not even there.” — Saidu Auwal

So @Delta stopped a Nigerian National from boarding a flight to Nigeria on account of an expired passport.
Interior Min @raufaregbesola has now told @nigimmigration that no Nigerian with an expired passport should be prevented from entering Nigeria. (Hope NIS & airlines comply!)
Because there’s really no reason for a Nigerian with a Nigerian passport to be denied entry to Nigeria simply because their passport has expired.

I guess, sometimes, stereotypes exist for defying.

By way of history, in 1979, UPN's Obafemi Awolowo (Yoruba Christian) ran with Philip Umeadi (Igbo Christian) & came a very close second to NPN's Shehu Shagari (Fulani Muslim) & Alex Ekwueme (Igbo Christian).

Guess what - Awo-Umeadi wasn't the only Christian-Christian ticket on the ballot for the 1979 Presidential Election.

Nnamdi Azikiwe (Igbo Christian), who came third in the race, also ran with another Christian, Ishaya Audu (a Christian from Kaduna State).
Christian-Christian tickets (Awo-Umeadi; Zik-Audu) got a total of 7.7 million votes in 1979 Presidential election. More than what eventual winner (Muslim-Christian) got.

In fact, an Awolowo-Zik alliance could very easily have become President and VP in 1979. See the numbers:
