We need to talk about the elephants in the room, Sen. Manchin and the DOJ..
This may be upsetting to hear. It was upsetting for me to write.

First: Senator Manchin is a selfish guy who has his financial interests at heart....
He does represent an absolutely essential function. He keeps the gavel and the agenda out of Mitch McConnell and the gop's hands.

We can NOT overlook the fact that we are NOT in the majority. The Senate is indeed a 50-50 tie with VP Harris the tie-breaking vote.

If Sen. Manchin were to flip parties or even go independent while announcing his intent to caucus with the gop, we lose the gavel to McConnell. This would be disasterous in our attempts to save our democracy as well as our planet.

I frequently use Veruca Salt (willy wonka, the gene wilder one) and in this case we must remember what her desire for an oompa loompa now led to. A trip to a shut down incinerator.

Were McConnell to gain control our trip would find a completely fired incinerator, ready to burn everything we have worked so hard for the last 70 plus years.

So please, I ask you to keep this in mind and resist the urge to attack Sen. Manchin. The way to attack him is by gaining 2 or more seats in the Senate thus making both Sinema and Manchin irrelevant.

Second: Merrick Garland and the DOJ, yes I totally understand the desire to indict Trump. However other than big mouth Comey, can you remember any DOJ investigation of this magnitude that went public?

AG Garland is right "no man is above the law" but an acquittal would disprove this standard and Trump would become untouchable, not to mention how it would embolden his white supremacist supporters.

Garland is exactly right when he says they have to get this right. One mistake and we may as well annoint trump king.
So please again I beg of you, have patience. A sprint to the finish on either issue could easily lead to disaster
