KADUNA UPDATE: As part of the process of readying the 300-bed hospital for service delivery, KDSG today signed a technical and management service agreement with Doctors Clinic Company of the United Arab Emirates.
The partners will run the hospital as an efficient and sustainable facility, providing service at international standards. The hospital will have 26 departments, six theaters, ICU, and facilities for cardiology, oncology & nuclear medicine.
KDSG also signed an agreement with Elekta for the purchase of equipment for the nuclear medicine and oncology centre at the hospital. This will expand the national capacity for treating cancer.

Malam Nasir @elrufai has presented N219m to three tertiary institutions as full payment of tuition fees till graduation for 1251 students under the Kaduna State Government’s merit and need-based scholarships scheme. The state also provides a students’ loan window.
The Kaduna State University is paid N158.53m for 755 students; the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, got N33.45m for 317 students and Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic received N27.6m for 179 students.
KDSG has also disbursed N819.79m in education loans to 509 students for tuition fees and upkeep in schools within and outside the country.
KADUNA UPDATE: KDSG has informed the elected chairmen of Chikun and Giwa Local Govt Councils that they should continue in their roles, declaring that their suspension by the House of Assembly violates the Constitution and the laws of Kaduna State.
A legal opinion by Attorney-General Aisha Dikko stated that Section 8 of the Constitution and the Kaduna State Local Govt Law No. 3 of 2018 place LGs as independent organs of government, with duly elected legislative councils, and clear procedures for removing elected officials.
The Attorney General of Kaduna state, categorically stated that “the procedures for the removal of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of a Local Government Council in the state have been clearly spelt out by the Kaduna State Local Government Law 2018.”
In March 2021, KDSG had only N321m left after settling personnel costs. This does not include standing orders for overheads, funding security operations, running costs of schools and hospitals and other overhead costs that the state has to bear for the government machinery to run
The government is an institution organised to deliver public goods, not to minister solely to the interests of the 100,000 persons employed to help deliver this mandate to the larger population of almost 10m citizens.

Aisha Dikko, the Attorney-General of Kaduna State, has affirmed that KDSG respects the rule of law has afforded due process to every citizen it has charged for incitement, injurious falsehood or criminal defamation. facebook.com/393816480127/p…
She noted that most of the individuals mentioned in the petition, have pending criminal cases. One of them has a bench warrant for his arrest for failing to appear in court, while the state has rejected the request from one of them for an out of court settlement.
In July 2015, The Union newspaper published a defamatory story on the assets of Malam Nasir @elrufai, who sued the newspaper and its correspondent for libel. He initiated this matter in his private capacity and it is being handled by his personal lawyer.
